After 3 weeks, the bed finally arrived today. I was looking forward to it and decided to take photos as I set it up and post them here - as someone else had done on this forum with a different brand of bed. I found those photos very helpful. So I photographed each step and finally got to the big OOPS. The bag that was labeled "convolute comfort pad" was really another core and covered only half the bed. I realize mistakes happen and I called Flobed. They said I could sleep on it anyway and they would ship a replacement today - Tuesday. I confirmed online that it did ship but t is not scheduled to arrive until next Tuesday - is this the best they can do? Couldn't they come up with a shipping method that guaranteed delivery by the weekend? Again, I realize mistakes do happen but I feel, under the circumstances, they could have worked a little harder to get the replacement here faster. I sent them a complaint e-mail. Will call them on Friday if they don't reply. I would say their customer service is pretty disappointing at this stage. I'll keep you posted on further developments - if they make things riight, I will be sure to post the positives. I'll try to post the photos tomorrow of what they have sent so far. Now it's time to go test the bed from this company that so many people rave about. This message was modified Feb 4, 2009 by BobJ

BobJ, I am glad FloBeds came through for you like they have for me with their customer service that aims to please and seems to really care about the comfort of the bed to each and every customer. At least that was the way I felt from dealing with both Dave and Dewey. Dave even sliced a latex pillow for me trying to find a pillow the right height for me. But I got lucky and after buy several natural latex standard pillows from Overstock, I found two the right height for me while the others are just a tad too thick. The Queen Size latex pillows from FloBeds were so perfect but too plump for my petite size (I am only 4'10.5" tall) so I am using them as Shams which fit so nicely in my sham covers. I feel you will like the firmer latex side of the bed once you have the soft topper over it. I really love having a little cushion under me with a lot of firmness under the cushion since I sleep on my side. For years, I slept on a too hard bed and tossed and turned all night to get off my pressure points. I thought the firmer the bed, the better off I was. After my bed fell apart and I was sleeping on the floor, I asked for advice on a decorating forum after I returned a Simmons Bed that I turned out allergic too (had a suede top with polyurethane on it and not natural latex like I was told) and was sleeping on the floor on top of a comforter in my bedroom. I took, their advice and bought a 1" latex topper to sleep on top of my carpeted bedroom floor until my busy season ended. Then when clients told me about their FloBed and gave me the website and I asked others on the decorating forum about a latex bed, I got great feedback about their FloBeds and the great customer support. There seemed to be many people who loved their latex beds even beds that were not kits that I see now would have not worked for me since I needed to be able to adjust the bed to fit my needs from trying out different combination of latex cores. I still like my beds very firm still but a little cushion on top that is latex is what I need for me getting a good night's sleep and not moving too much when I am sleeping. We all can't wait to hear how you sleep is and which side of the bed you like better when your topper arrives. Please keep us updated. Did you buy the bed frame also or do you have your own and if so what type? |
Last night I slept on the firm side. It was great. and I suspect I will stay with firm. The convolute pad looks like it will arrive today. Still too cold though. I slept well, I think, but woke up very cold. aron1231 had recommended the SnugFleece Original topper and I am going to check it out or see if I can get something at Bed Bath & Beyond tonight. Other than that, it does seem like a good bed - I do NOT miss the old bed. |
Glad you like it so far, even without the topper. I'm looking forward to seeing your setup photos and writeup. That would be much appreciated! |
I'm ready to post the photos BUT I can't figure out how to do it. I sent a note to the admin asking how to do it. In the meantime, if anyone else can offer advise, I would appreciate it.. It looks like you have to post a link so I uploaded the pics to Flickr first but I still can't figure it out. I tried with Firefox first and then tired with IE7 with no luck on either. Help? |
In posting mode, click on the little image icon (3rd from right} and paste the image URL from the Flickr host in the prompt box. For best forum viewing, images should be around 640 pixels wide. |
Thanks sager66. Your suggestion sounded good and I change the size of all the photos to 640 pixels wide but I still can't get it to work. In IE7, I still get the red "x" where the photo should be. Maybe it's my security settings? |

Thanks. I've read that already and have done everything it says to do. I've just uploaded the pics to a different site in case it has something to do with Flickr. About to try again. |
Problem solved. Either it was Flickr or my own stupidity on how to use that site. I posted the pics to Photobucket and was able to easily add them to the post Thanks all of you who offered advice. Much appreciated. |
I think maybe Flickr does not allow you to "hotlink" to their site. |
