Found a Real Box Spring
Just thought I would share this information since it is hard to find a box spring that actually has springs in it these days. I bought the IKEA Sultan Alby box spring(Queen for $150), this thing weighs over 100 lbs, my last S-brand probably only weighed 20-30 lbs. I looked on the website and it says it uses Bonell spring coil: Steel with 264 springs for Full size. Anyway, I also bought a mattress and pillowtop from IKEA so far so good, but I will post a review on it after I have used it for a few weeks. Here are the links if anyone wants: Sultan Alby http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70108771 Sultan Alekull (couldn't find a difference besides color and it is 3/4" thicker and $50 more) http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50108791 |
Re: Found a Real Box Spring
hello, well actually there are alot of companies that still carry box SPRING, yes the ones with the actual springs in it , but no one likes to carry them because the are outrageously expensive . |
Re: Found a Real Box Spring
$150 doesn't sound expensive to me....maybe it is because they will make a mattress last longer and be more comfortable...therefore people won't have to replace their mattresses frequently. However, $150 compared to maybe $10 for a simple wooden frame box(or foundation) is a difference. Good luck with the box spring...a good Bonnell unit for a good price is a fantastic buy! I'm waiting very impatiently for my new mattress and box springs to come on Thursday! My back cannot wait! Kait |
