Hi, I'm new here, I just signed up today. I live in the Boston area. I'm a student and I just don't have all time to read through the several posts here, my apologies in advance to those who are offended. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So, I have a huge need for a new mattress and I was thinking Latex is the best option. I have been through 3 different mattresses in just over a year. I really need to sleep consistently 7-8 hours/day without tossing and turning. It's been incredibly frustrating. I had back pain several times and spent too much money for inadequate mattresses.
Some facts: Weight: 175 lbs (note: I workout, so I might gain another 10-20 lbs) Side to stomach sleeper Size: Full Firmness: Not too firm or too soft Budget: up to $1000.00
Can someone please help me out with selecting a Latex mattress? Should it be all natural 100% or a combination of natural and synthetic? Is purchasing online the best way for Latex and if so, what sites are recommended? Is the difference between Dunlop vs. Talalay significant?
Note: I did try a Latex mattress for the first at Mattress Giant. It was the Embody by Sealy, specifcally called the "Insightful". It felt great and the latex pillows as well. Unfortuantely, the saleperson did not know the compostion of the mattress.
Thanks, megafear

I'll step out there. If I were in your situation, I would buy: $349 - 3" "Firm" (28ILD LI Talatech Blended Talalay - is actually Medium) Full Rejuvinite Topper w/cover http://www.latexmattresscompany.com/full-rejuvenite-3--latex-mattress-topper.html $386 - 3" 36ILD LI Talatech Blended Talalay (Firm) from www.sleeplikeabear.com $272 - 2" 24ILD LI Talatech Blended Talalay (Soft) from www.sleeplikeabear.com That is $1010. You will have a comfort guarantee from SLAB on the Soft layer, which is the only one I would imagine you might need to change. You will have a nice feeling cover for whatever ends up on top. You can cover the rest with some cheap allergy cover from Walmart. To go cheaper, you could replace the 2" Soft layer with http://www.latexmattresscompany.com/fulamato.html for $199 but it might be too soft and you would not be able to return it. Take it for what it is worth. Gary |
Okay, I'll check it out. Thanks for the responses. If anyone else has any other suggestions, please post your thoughts.
Thanks Very Much, megafear |
