How much can one expect to pay for a king size mattress that is all Talalay with a four inch support base and organic cotton cover? |
My local mfr quoted $1999.00. So, I guess that is on par.
However, the mattress construction is basically the latex, the wool (fire barrier), and the cover........no padding, pillow top or quilted cover. Does that sound about right? This message was modified Dec 13, 2012 by Bugman1400

Yep... Latex in a stretchy knit sack with wool for body ventilation and fire retardance. The Latex IS the padding/pillowtop. You also need something to set it on... box slats on a metal bed frame, or a platform bed. The ideal platform is sturdy flat slats with 1-2" gaps or so for ventilation. Target mattress height is 28-30" max off floor. GK |
Will the increase in sizes affect the comfort and support of the best latex mattress or do they maintain their reliability? |
A larger area of Latex foam rubber does not behave differently, except that there will be more area away from the perimeter, and King layers have to be pieced together with glue seams which apparently do not cause any problems. GK |
Daniel Hall posted on 12/12 his results for his purchase from Mattresses 247 on Ebay and gave a very positive review of them. They have a 4 layer king on sale now with a Cotton and Wool cover for $1560 or lesser priced with Bamboo cover.
