Just about ready to buy a Tempur Pedic
| After a lot of lying on a lot of beds and about a month of research, we are about to buy a BellaSonna bed by Tempur Pedic. Could anyone that has that bed or a simular one give me your advice. Thanks so much! |

Good grief, the Bellasonna is not a top 4 Tempur-pedic Bed? If you can't afford a TP Top 4 go somewhere else? The Rhapsody Queen mattress MSRP is $2900 USD. The Bellasona Queen mattress MSRP is $4100 USD. Not impressed with Bellasonna? The Latex jihadism on this board is getting silly. If you prefer firm to plush and prefer a conventional,ie springy, feel to that of most memory foam beds then the Bellasona is a fine choice. |

People who are happy with their latex mattresses have nothing to apologize for. I don't like the Bellasonna not because of its price point but because of the departure from their design it displays. In my former shop and personal testing I found the Bellasonna's cylindrical drum system to be far less supportive and comfortable than the traditional layered Tempur-material. | I tried the Bellasona bed. I'm a little sceptical of their cylindrical "foam spring" system, if you can call it that. I just wonder how supportive, and how durable, it would be. If I were going Tempurpedic, I would have purchased the Rhapsody, if only because the others are just so expensive they are out of the realm of possibility for me. The Grand Bed strikes me as a little over the top . . . |

In Tempur-Pedic's original infomercial it insisted the classic bed and contour pillow were the correct design giving you the correct posture and support after years of research by "sleep scientist." I am not surprised that the Bellasonna is Tempur-pedic's least popular bed. It has been telling its customers that inner-spring mattresses and counter pressure are "bad" for almost 20 years.No to mention the "disturbance" to your partner.Now it comes out with a foam bed that mimics an innerspring bed. The Bellasonna is for customers that up until now have never liked Tempur-pedics. It is a tough sell. It is no longer pushing the Contour pillow as "correct" and offers symphony,rhapsody,comfort,grand pillow etc. However, Select Comfort now has its top of the line bed standard with memory foam after insisting air was superior for years. Flobeds can be had with memory foam or "air mattress core for adjustability." Americans don't like being told by "experts" what to buy. They want choices. They are reassured if their choice is backed by experts but American consumers are going to buy what they "want." |

Now, I would never ever buy an innerspring mattress. Maybe latex but not innerspring. The Grand Bed has changed from its introduction a few years ago.It was bascially twice the cheap base foam plus cashmere ticking.Now it has the same size base foam as Rhapsody but twice the HD foam and twice the standard comfort foam.Unless you are morbidly obese it does seem like overkill. |

| The original poster asked for advice from people with experience with the bed. Kimberly and I both have experience so we gave our advice. I hold to it. You're much better off spending a bit more and getting the Allura or just going with the Celebrity. |

| Well I don't know if I have "experience." I have tried the Rhapsody bed and the Deluxe bed maybe 6-8 times, lying on each bed for a minimum of 1/2 hour. I've tried other Tempurpedic models, but not lying them on for an extended period. I did lie down on the BellaSonna and looked at it's foam inner spring system and didn't take to it. My personal take was that the less expensive models probably wouldn't last. But other people have other opinions . . . |

according to tempurpedic, the cheaper their mattress the more support so to say if you dont get one of the top 4, well I called them with that attitude and told them i had low back pain and i needed to know which 2 or 3 provided the most support they told me the ones with HD provide the LEAST, etc if i go the latex route i wonder about it sleeping hot too...i sure wont order one without laying on one first and their store is a 5 hour round trip drive... It does not make sense. Any salesperson or customer service rep that tells that to a customer should be fired. Some people find memory foam sleeps hot. I have not heard that is a problem with latex. The cheaperst will feel the hardest that does not necessariyly mean the best support. Some people can't get over that 1950's addage from the innerspring age. Some salespeople stop trying to educate customers and some are just ignorant themselves. |
