After a lot of lying on a lot of beds and about a month of research, we are about to buy a BellaSonna bed by Tempur Pedic. Could anyone that has that bed or a simular one give me your advice. Thanks so much!

according to tempurpedic, the cheaper their mattress the more support

so to say if you dont get one of the top 4, well I called them with that attitude and told them i had low back pain and i needed to know which 2 or 3 provided the most support

they told me the ones with HD provide the LEAST, etc

if i go the latex route i wonder about it sleeping hot too...i sure wont order one without laying on one first and their store is a 5 hour round trip drive...

Tempur HD with 7 lbs density does not offer less support than regular Tempur foam at 5.34 lbs density. It does not make sense. Any salesperson or customer service rep that tells that to a customer should be fired. Some people find memory foam sleeps hot. I have not heard that is a problem with latex.

The cheaperst will feel the hardest that does not necessariyly mean the best support. Some people can't get over that 1950's addage from the innerspring age.

Some salespeople stop trying to educate customers and some are just ignorant themselves.

I do not believe latex sleeps as hot as memory foam.  At least, "sleeping hot" is a common complaint among memory foam users, and it is not a frequent complaint among latex users.  Think about it:  memory foam is very dense and countours to your body, responding to and reflecting your body heat.  That heat doesn't have anywhere to disspate to as the foam is in direct contact with your body.

If you have looked at a picture of latex, the latex is perforated with hundreds, if not thousands, of holes from the manufacturing process.  These allow the dissipation of heat from your body.

If the drive to Flobeds is 5 hours, I still think it's worth making the drive so you can do a comparison.  Otherwise, you won't know, unless you can find a closer mattress company that has latex mattresses.

Here's a thought - one of your local mattress stores might cary the Vera Wang line of latex mattresses.  I'm told that the high end of this line is 100% latex, whereas the lower end of the line is a combination of latex and foam.    If you could try one of these out, they still have the overall feel of latex although they are not 100% latex.  At least it would give you a baseline for comparing the difference between the feel of a Tempurpedic and the feel of a latex mattress.

i've had a bellasonna now for about 6 weeks. it was really firm to begin with, and still is, but it has softened up some. i went from another manufacturers top of the line memory foam bed to the bellasonna.
the other bed was only 2 1/5 years old but i was having back aches every morning and they were getting worse. since the bellasonna my back problems have gone away. i caught the flu 2 weeks after i got the bellasonna and spent 3 days in the bed. if i had kept the old bed i probably wouldn't have been able to move. that said i love the bed. i'm sure that in another few months it will be a little softer but that won't be a problem. it doesn't really feel like an innerspring bed and i don't notice any movement when my girlfriend gets in or out of bed.if you haven't purchased the bed i recommend it. if you have tell me what you think.
