Latex Topper on top a Memory Foam mattress?

I just got a Sleep Science Ara Foam Mattress from Costco and I feel like I'm sinking in a little too much. But, my wife would like something a little softer. I know it doesn't make much sense to put latex on top of memory foam because the MF uses body heat to help conform to the body. But, could this help solve my problem? If I get a Twin XL Talalay Soft Topper for one side and a Twin XL Medium Topper for the other from Foambymail? Then just throw a mattress cover over the top of course. The additional toppers would also help provide protection and lengthen the life of the mattress itself, right?

Or is it a bad idea to put latex on top of memory foam altogether?

Thanks.

Hello,

You can try also try a 1" 20ILD FBM latex topper.

It's so nice and soft over top memory foam, you feel the memory foam through the thin latex but you are like floating above the memory foam....its really nice.

Any latex over memory foam is nice but if you do go with 1" of a low ILD latex get a cover for it. Anything around 20 ILD thats 1 inch thick is fragile compared to the 32 ILD.

2" 20ILD could be perfect also. I wouldnt even put the 2" in a cover, seems thick enough compared to 1" 20ILD.

My 1" 20ILD is inside the encasement but.... 1" of such a low ILD even inside or if it was outside and the mattress protector was on top. I just feel like 1" needs its own cover to prevent tearing from squishing over time.

Everyone else is saying go 3" and wow that would really feel good. But if you want to feel the foam more you could go with thin layer of latex on top. Thats my current set up 1" 20ILD latex on top of 3" 5lb memory foam.
But again, the more latex the better your mattress feels :) go for 16"

Personally I would never sleep on a memory foam mattress. Too hot and too many chemicals. Adding latex would at least separate you from directly breathing in all that out-gassing and provide a cooler sleep.
