Latex Topper on top a Memory Foam mattress?

I just got a Sleep Science Ara Foam Mattress from Costco and I feel like I'm sinking in a little too much. But, my wife would like something a little softer. I know it doesn't make much sense to put latex on top of memory foam because the MF uses body heat to help conform to the body. But, could this help solve my problem? If I get a Twin XL Talalay Soft Topper for one side and a Twin XL Medium Topper for the other from Foambymail? Then just throw a mattress cover over the top of course. The additional toppers would also help provide protection and lengthen the life of the mattress itself, right?

Or is it a bad idea to put latex on top of memory foam altogether?

Thanks.

Personally I would never sleep on a memory foam mattress. Too hot and too many chemicals. Adding latex would at least separate you from directly breathing in all that out-gassing and provide a cooler sleep.
