Latex ventilation holes

I received my one inch 20 ILD latex topper today.  As soon as I unrolled the topper I noticed that the ventilation holes did not go through the entire depth of the foam.  Is this typical, or do I have a defective piece of foam on my hands that I will need to return?  I assume this will also affect the breathibility of the product, no?

Thanks again for your input.

I ordered the topper from foambymail.  According to the customer support representative, this is not a defect and will not affect the latex.  According to all the information I have read though, the holes are there for ventilation.  I may just pay the return shipping and return it.

The holes in mine go all the way through. The only imperfections appear to be from the cutting process. It's not too bad though. Probably quite acceptable for the price. I would still be a little annoyed by the outcome of your topper since all of the foam and layex I purchased from FBM appears to be as advertised.

This really is normal for this to happen.  I would not be overly concerned about it.

Thank you for the comments...  Although not what I had expected,  I have decided to keep topper and perhaps purchase a softer one inch layer of latex to place on top.  Any suggestions?
