I am starting my search for a new mattress. My current mattress is around 10 years old (Simmons Back Care Entre) and I am starting to feel the springs when I sleep. I have flipped and rotated the mattress and still feel them. I do not know how long I plan to keep this mattress since right now I am living with my parents, but depending on job situation might move out in a year. When I move I plan to invest in a more expensive mattress (Sleepez/Flobed/maybe Carpe Diem, Vi Spring, or Hastens) and the mattress I buy now would be for when I visit. I weigh around 150 pounds and usually sleep on my stomach or side. I just want to get something that will help me get better quality sleep. Right now I am mainly looking at:

I just ordred a mattress from Foam by Mail and it is great. The quality is actually better than the Latex International I have. Six inches of foam will cost you about $600 for a queen, plus I would recommend a 2" topper. I think you will be happy--certainly moe happy than with an IKEA IMHO. We also bough the Novaform Gel for my daughter and it is junk after two years. Sorry, I can't help you with the other ones. My exwife had a Hastens and it was too stiff for me. I had to ad a latex topper for comfort, but it was very high quality.

Now Costco has the Sealy Barryton Queen Mattress on sale for $480 after coupon (in store), I will most likely go for this, although it has a little more foam than I would like.
It seems like it should be decent for a few years and be a good candidate for mattress surgery down the line (when hopefully it will be in a guest room).
