Mattress cover from FBM
I have my mattress configuration pretty much set up but Im trying to decide on the zip-top cover. I know FBM will make the cover to any thickness you need but Im wondering if I should give myself a little extra space in that cover due to thickness variations. My mattress will be 3 layers at a total of 9" thick. Should I get my cover exactly 9" or 10"? Any input is appreciated. Thanks |
Re: Mattress cover from FBM
Thanks for the replies. I am really happy I posted about this b/c I didnt realize the striped cover was zippered on one side. My set up is going to be as follows: 3" HD36 3" Lux 3" MF I dont really like the feel of latex but then again I dont like the feel of the MF mattresses that dont have a cover. So I am going to buy a 2" cuddlebed and put on top. I didnt realize you could get a 9" terry cloth cover from FBM. I will go that route and hopefully they will put the whole thing together before shipping. Thanks for the input. |
Re: Mattress cover from FBM
333, I was thinking latex mattress. I have no idea about how the other foams would react in an 8" cover. The terry cloth cover is a 8" cover. Carlo said it was much softer and more flexible than the striped. Bear |
Re: Mattress cover from FBM
Oops. Bear is correct about the size of the terry cover; it's 8 inches, not 9 as I mistakenly said in my previous post. However, as I said, there was no problem fitting the 9 inches of latex inside the cover. |
Re: Mattress cover from FBM
Thanks again for the responses. I am a little concerned about having too many layers together so I am thinking of going with just 5" of HD36 and another 3" of MF. I am still trying to decide the ILD of the MF to use. FBM has two different ILDs. OMC and BedInABox use MF similar to the 'white' MF offered by FBM. I decided to go with the HD36 instead of Lux b/c I am concerened with the firmness of it. Other manufacturers making similar mattresses use a similar combination to what Im doing. I am going to cover the whole thing with a terrycloth cover and a 2" cuddlebed. |
