do i need a mattress protector such as "protectabed" for my memory foam mattress?

after reading about all of the fluids and dead skin cells that our bodies give off, i am wondering if perhaps this is the way to go....

any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks!

I can't imagine not using a mattress pad or protector on a mattress. It's just more sanitary. The only downside with a memory foam mattress is you may mute the memory foam feel to some degree by putting a mattress pad over it, so you may not want to get something very thick or plush. Also, keep in mind that some kinds of mattress pads with tight quilting can produce a drumtop effect and make your mattress feel hard and uncomfortable. I like mattress pads with 3" ribs rather than diamond type quilting. These kinds of pads have more give to them and feel softer and more comfortable to me.
