Memory Foam Topper Advice.
A year ago I purchased a memory foam mattress from amazon.com to help with my back problems. It was wonderful for relieving my back pain although It does retain a lot of heat. During the winter it wasn't a problem but I usually suffered during the summer. I just recently moved to Houston and now I find it unbearable. I was thinking about getting a topper to reduce the heat. I was wondering if putting a latex foam mattress would help reduce the heat while supporting the back. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Here is the topper I was thinking about buying http://www.amazon.com/ErgoSoft-Natural-Latex-Mattress-Topper/dp/B000O01DNE/ref=cm_srch_res_rtr_1 |

Agree. A layer of quilted wool really helps to ventilate heat and moisture. Adding a foam topper will affect the comfort, but not the ventilation. GK |
Re: Memory Foam Topper Advice.
Putting a foam topper, regardless of if it's latex or not isn't really going to help reduce heat, it's the foam itself that traps the heat. If you really want to stick with foam (which I would, foam mattresses/toppers are super comfortable) you could try a gel foam topper, the gel is *suppose* to help dissapate the heat better but I haven't actually tried one myself to tell you if they work or not. They are a kind of expensive, $100ish for a 2' topper (https://www.gowfb.com/2-inch-gel-memory-foam-topper-with-cover/l/99211) so not terrible but not what I would call inexpensive either. |
