Thank you Lynn, that's a great suggestion. I've been reading the Topper threads here and I think your suggestion is already answering my next question about I have about toppers.....Do I buy 2 twins or one big king? I'm looking at the SLAB.com site because of other's recommendations. We also are in need of a frame.....Hopefully I can pick one up off the shelf at JC Penny or another local store? Thanks I would buy 2 twins since you and your wife may have different requirements for comfort. They are also easier to move around and return if necessary. I know it is probably a little more expensive, but it allows more flexibility. You can even experiment easier with another layer of latex (by doubling up on one side) if necessary to achieve the right comfort level. Also, something to keep in mind is that many mattresses deteriorate after the 30 or 60 day "warranty" period so it becomes too late to return. Ours took about 6 to 9 months before it was obvious that the mattress was not going to last. As many on this forum will attest, my mattress was not a pillow top either, but the contents (poly foam, etc.) will probably start sagging after a relatively short life. Unless your S&F mattress is just springs with a cover, it will probably have some type of foam. If it's not what you want (latex or whatever), then I would return it quickly and not wait. I wish I knew that before buying it. It would have saved me about $1500 for a Simmons Beautyrest. I learned my lesson the hard way. Toppers are great once you have a good base but if you have sagging 8 months from now, you can't fix it with a topper.
