Ok, first night on the new bed. We got the eastern king with the foundation. DH is 6'4" and about 230, I am 5'6" and 130. This is our first latex foam purchase. The foundation on my side of the bed is squeaking already. Not loud, but that is disappointing. Will definately be sending it back when we have another foundation set. Otherwise, it is very solid. We both slept painlessly, for the first time in a long time. DH loved it and woke up once in the night. He said it is perfect and was raving about it this am. While I didn't experience the lower back pain that I did with my old mattress, I woke up a lot throughout the night, which I usually do anyway, so obviously not the fault of the bed. I felt like I was laying on top of the mattress and not really sinking in much. It was comfortable, but not cushy like I expected. We will be giving it a good, 2-month or so test to see how it works out. Maybe it will soften up a bit over time? It's definately not hard, but I just wanted a little more cush. I'll update this periodically. |
The one thing I would have done different I think is to get the core in a 6" instead of 3 layers. You can always soften up a mattress. Have you tried a soft talalay topper?, mine is too soft like a marshmellow. SleepEz has better prices than flobeds, but Foambymail is even much cheaper, but not sure of the quality of their foam. Ours is just blended, and you can get that anywhere. It would take too long and too much money for me to try every method and layering, so this search for the perfect comfort I am realizing may not exist. |
