I am just doing the final bits of research before I buy, and emailed SleepEZ with a few questions about their "organic" latex mattress. Their answers provided info I couldn't find on their website, so I thought I'd post it here in case anyone else is interested.
The organic mattress line can come with Natural Dunlop or Natural talalay.

I am inclined to order the Talalay version, but wish it was a full 12" of latex like the Dunlop. Given my husband and I are both heavy people, I wonder if going with the Dunlop might be better? Anyone have an opinion they'd like to share? |
Thanks Kimberly, that was very helpful. Obviously, we're all different but hearing your weight and set-up gives me confidence that we can make this work. I do plan on calling and talking to Shawn before ordering, but since I am at work during the day I often find email easier. Plus, then I have it in writing! |
Why do people want phone calls, I find that more intimidating and really would rather do emails myself. I can read something and comprehend better than hearing and not hearing correctly and can't refer back to it later....... I do just hate phone calls...... But that is me and some other people in the world. Good luck and I hope it works for you. Let us know how you do. |
I have both blended latex cores and natural latex cores on my bed from Latex International purchased by buying a FloBed. I found the 100% natural Talalay Latex to be 3" thick while the blended was 2.8" thick so I think SleepEZ is wrong unless Latex International recently changed their specs but I doubt it? But the salesperson for SleepEZ did give a good recommendation of what to start out with in terms of latex core firmness without a soft in the equation which to me most people feel is too soft for support but their are always the exceptions since we are all built differently.

Thanks all. I am pretty certain we will go with the talalay, especially since it appears the LI 100%natural talalay is indeed 3". Lynn, do you notice any real difference between your natural and blended cores? I know there is still plenty of debate on this topic, but was curious about your observations having both in front of you. I'm inclined to go with the natural in order to avoid any of the chemicals used in manufacture of the synthetic, but don't know if it is really worth the extra cost. |
