Need mattress for 2 Different Sleepers

My Fiancée and I are looking for a new bed for the house we are building.

We are two totally different sizes and different sleepers.

He is 6'5" and 300 lbs.

I am 5'1" and 110 lbs.

He sleeps on his stomach and I sleep on my side and back.

We are running into issues on what type of bed to get that will meet both of our needs.

We don't want to get the adjustable mattress as it is rather expensive.

We are looking for a comfortable mattress that isn't too hard, but is still supportive and affordable.

We aren't looking to spend more than $2,000 and are looking into a King or Cal King.

During research, it looks like the latex one is the best to go... but I am not sure if that is correct.

From what I read, it seems like you should stay away from pillow tops when you have a heavy person.

But honestly I really don't know...

Could someone please give us suggestions as we are new to this mattress buying.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Definitely.  You should probably also stay away from pillow tops when you have a light person.  Or someone of intermediate weight.  Otherwise choose whatever you like.  smiley

The big issue with latex is that not everyone likes it.  My husband doesn't really care for it, but he can sleep on most mattresses while I'm the one with the problem back, so he's humoring me.   I would recommend trying some latex mattresses first to see if you like the feel, or else choosing a vendor that permits returns.
