Great forum with plenty of interesting and informative posts in the archives and active participants posting anwers to my questions. And big thanks to Kim and Budgy. Budgy was actually a local dealer and very helpful but never pushy at all. I just decided that mail order direct out of the US is a better value or at least less expensive and hopefully as good a quality as retail. Lets face it, retail stores can just add more margin on top of a commodity and if I can by cheaper direct I will. I would have liked to splurge and get a Flobed but I kept the costs down and went with an SleepEZ 1000 Organic. Very traditional configuration. Talalay S/M/F for both my and the wifes side. Cost was $2000 plus a couple of hundred shipping via the post. No broker fees and no duty. I went with SleepEZ because its seems to strike a really good balance of offering top service and product with a lower cost. I don't feel like I had to splurge with $500 extra for some extra insurance policy for doing a return. I can put the savings towards sheets and pillows. Bed should ship in a day or so. Will post back once we have some time on it. Thanks again to the forum. God loves the internet. I would have never known about these options (over the crap S Brands) without access to a board such as this. Bryan |
Update #1. Our foundation arrived Friday and the matress arrived yesterday (Monday). Putting it together was pretty hassle free. The latex had some slight tears on the edges which I don't think will be a big deal, but I'm kind of an anal guy and I looked over everything very carefully. We did the standard configuration of sf/med/fm on both sides. After it was all put together we laid down and oh my god...it is so comfortable! I wanted to go to sleep at 8:00! When we finally did go to sleep it was pretty amazing. I still tossed and turned, it might have been out of habit (I'll give it more time) but it was a great night sleep. I'm looking forward to going to bed tonight! Besides the comfort, one of the things I really like about the bed is how quiet it is. The bed we replaced was a Sealy Posturpedic, which is not a cheap bed, but there was always the squeeks and groans from the springs everytime you moved or got out of bed. It's great not to have that noise anymore. I also bought a 100% natural latex pillow from Sleepez that was also pretty impressive. In the past couple of years I have spent at least $200 on pillows. They all start off feeling good, but eventually my head sinks to the bottom and there is no support. The latex pillow is supposed to never lose it's shape as well as be dust mite resistant. Overall, we had a very good first impression from Sleepez's service to the products. I hope our satisfaction continues. My only worry is premature sagging, the mountains and valleys effect. We are both light weight adults (me 165lbs, her 114lbs). Does anyone who has owned a Sleepez latex bed for any significant time have any comments on this? thanks! Jesse |
