Looking at their RV 8" Latex mattress (72x80).  Has anyone bought from them, I can find little to no user comments anywhere online.  Does anyone know about the firmness of Plushbeds Latex or the quality of the product?

Thanks for the reply.  Where did you find the ILD?  I did not see it, however, I have sent them an email they have not answered.  If they do I will post the reply here.

They list the 24 ILD in the specifications of the 8" bedroom mattress.  I think they also have a 6" with 32 ILD.   This is not the RV mattress that you may be looking at.  I did not see an ILD in that description.

Actually the 8" has the 24ILD at top and a firmer Sri Lanka core underneath.

See 3rd paragraph under mattress construction.  Sounds decent if that is the case, call them and ask questions.

But for like Sandman said RM has a 3" for little over $300, then order a firmer layer of 2" and 3" (equals 5") from another source, probably for $600 or more; total cost under $1,000 to make your own.

You are right.  Good observation.  That probably makes it a bit more suitable for most people (not as soft as I though), but makes it seem even more overpriced.  Assuming that the core is dunlop (which it sounds like), that is usually less expensive than 100% natural talalay.

I would buy the dunlop base core and talalay topper cheaper elsewhere, if I was interested in this configuation.

The RV mattress has a foam core, so it will not last as long.    One could buy a firm PU base and talalay topper for less.

Online conversation about RV Mattress.

You: Are both the top layer and the core layer natual latex?
You: What is the ILD of the top layer and bootom layer?
Samantha: No, just the top layer in the RV collection. This makes them 30-40 lbs lighter. If you want all latex, look at our bedroom collection.
You: Oh yes, my name is Michelle and I am looking at the 8" Latex 72x80 RV Mattress.
Samantha: The ILD is firm; a 30 ILD.
You: What is the bootom layer?
 Samantha: Our proprietary soy-based Plushfoam.
You: The ILD is 30 for the top layer?
 Samantha: yes

Hi Nut,

We bought the Plushbeds Eco Green latex RV mattress in May. We have an Airstream and needed a customized king with rounded corners at the bottom. I considered their bedroom latex mattress, but I was told the king size 8" latex mattress (with a natural latex core) was over 130 lbs, which would have been too heavy for our RV. The Eco Green RV mattress has a Latex International 100% natural talalay latex (not blended) top layer with their soy-based, plushfoam core & is designed to be lighter (65-70 lbs) which makes a difference when you travel as much as we do.

I faxed a diagram to them with the dimensions of the custom cut corners & they made it exactly to the specifications I sent. They charge a 10% customization fee to customize an RV mattress, including rounded corners, which is cheaper than any of the other places I called, but because were AAA members, they waived the customization fee completely. They also don't charge for shipping. We received notification that it was shipped 6 days after placing the order.

When we received it, it was roll packed which helped to get it into the RV. I placed the roll on the platform, opened the bag, & it came right to it's normal shape in a few minutes. From what I read about latex off gassing, I thought I would need to air it out, however there really weren't any odors to speak of. The mattress has a very high quality apparence & the rounded corners fit my platform perfectly. From a comfort perspective, it is a bit on the firmer side, but is day and night from my old mattress. The old mattress we had seemed to sink too much & gave me back problems, but I have not had that experience on this mattress.

Overall, I would definately buy this mattress again. Hope that helps.

Jack
