I'm thinking of buying this mattress.  Can anyone who has this mattress let me know what they think of it.  Does anyone else have an opinion?

eagle2, I think the mattress manufacturers only have to list whether or not it's flammable and if it's new material, etc. That's all well and good.
But I don't think they ever have to tell you how much foam is in it and what type of foam is in it.
I am getting my new Englander mattress (just for the springs, I'll be dissecting it soon) tomorrow or Friday and I'll note whether or not it comes with any disclosure as to the foam etc. I'm pretty sure they do not, or else the mattress stores would not have had to try to call Englander to get the answers, and for the most part still never DID give me the full answers (how much foam, what type of foam, how many turns on the springs, etc.)

What we need - and I may start a campaign about this - is to require mattress companies to divulge what types and how thick etc. the foam is inside their mattresses, what gauge of wire and how many coils the springs have, and so on. Most consumers do not ask these questions and when I called around it was as if I was from Mars. None of them had the info readily available, though a couple at least knew the gauge or number of coils. NO ONE could tell me the foam content - types and thicknesses present inside the mattress.

This is exactly why I am posting this question here.  I want to buy a good mattress, but can't find much info from manufactures web sites.  I am from a small town, and do know the store owner.  He is recommending this mattress, and it is what he sleeps on.  If I buy it and don't like it, I can return it.

Jimsocal: I agree with you that we as consumers do not have that much protection. We need more, much more I feel. The current law is to limited as to content and states covered.

I would like to see a federal law effecting all states that required all manufactured of furniture, bedding, and toys to have to stipulate exactly what was in our products, or they could not be sold in the United States under penalty of high fines.

Here is some more info on law labels.
