Sagging Memory foam matress
We have a good base for the matress, that is now only 1 year old. My husband (230 lbs) now leaves a permanent indentation in the mattress and the middle that gets less attention is always higher than either side of the bed. Will a latex or other topper help extend the life and give hubby some relief? |

Re: Sagging Memory foam matress
What kind of mattress? It probably has polyuerethene foam that has gone bad. Not much you can do about that. The topper may smooth it out a bit, but once you lay on it, you will still sink into the foam that no longer provides enough support. |
Re: Sagging Memory foam matress
Once these indentations occur there is not much you can do to salvage the bed. If your budget is an issue, you might try a topper and see if it helps for awhile. If your hubby is suffering from back pain or other issues from sleeping on the bed, your best option is to research mattresses and purchase a new one - either a new memory foam, or a latex, or a traditional spring mattress bed. One option that could save you some money is to build your own mattress. This requires some research into HD PU foams and latex, but if you search the forums enough you may find some useful info about that. |
