generally speaking dunlop is "firmer".  But this is a pretty unscientific statement...kind of like saying feathers weigh less than bricks.

Both processes can produce a range of firmness levels, with Dunlop being able to hit denser and firmer levels and Talalay being able to hit less dense and softer levels than the softest dunlop available.  But a 'soft' dunlop would be softer than your firmest talalay latex around.  Lot's of variables at play here.

FBM claims to sell only talalay so if you have bought soft 20 ild from them and it is too hard it's unlikely that buying more would change things.

Though there is a growing feeling around here that FBM may be less than accurate in their descriptions, and may be on occasion shipping what they have on hand, so it is possible that you have talalay but in a harder grade, or even that they don't really have any talalay and are shipping dunlap, or some weird hybrid.

I agree with Hellbed that FBM is not totally reliable.  I am not basing that on direct experience, rather it seems that people on this Forum seem to get different levels of quality and firmness when they order from them.

If you really want to get an accurate ILD and knnow that it is talalay around 20ILD, I would probably order from sleeplikeabear (they have 19 ILD blended talalay from Latex International).  If you want 100% natural, they have something in the 20-24 range as does sleepez.  Rockymountainmattress has 24 100% natural.
