what is flobeds V zone? If only 1 person is sleeping on say a queen size bed. Are there 4 different complete layers of latex and you can put one on top of each other or are there less then 4 layers of latex or what? It is confusing. |

I assume you have looked at the pictures on the website? A flobed has four layers. Three 3" layers than can be S,M,F,XF,SF and a "soft" feeling convoluted layer that is about 2" thick. So, you stack 3 3" layers and the convoluted layer on top, for a total of about 11". Thos all go inside a zippered cotton/wool cover. In the Vzone, 1 of the 3" layers is cut up into about 6 pieces and attached via velro to some matting. It is still 3" thick. So, what you can do is have a soft piece (or whatever) piece under your shoulders, a firm (or whatever) piece under your hips, etc. Each of the indiviudal pieces can be S,M,F,XF,SF, so you can highly customize the "vzone" layer. The other 2 layers are just normal solid pieces latex. Normally the vzone layer will go on top of the other 2 "normal" layers, but you would not have to do it that way. You can stack it anyway you like. Not to confuse the issue, but for queen and larger sizes all of the layers (except the convoluted layer) are cut in half. It is still confusing. The site does not explain clearly. It goes by: size then bed - for 1 person or 2 (check mark) layers layer 1 soft/medium/firm/xfirm and the same for all the rest below layer 2 layer 3 and layer 4

Good Afternoon roy1, Dewey here at FloBeds. If you would like to email me a detailed list of questions i would be happy to answer them. My direct email is dewey@flobeds.com and i'll answer you first thing tomorrow morning. On our vZone mattress, whether its just you, or you and a partner you must choose (2) firmnesses for each side (of course they can be the same), hence the 4 firmness selections. Then you have a vzone on each side, and a convoluted topper on top of that. 1&2. The convoluted layer goes on top. It is a standard firmness as far as I know, so really you just choose the 3 layers below (this is with the vzone model, other models may have different number of layers). 3. You can put the vzone wherever you want, but usually it will be second from the top, just below the convoluted layer. 4. Depends on your height, weight, sleeping style, etc. You probably should discuss with Flobeds to figure it out. Usually a side sleeper will like it softer under the shoulders. Here is a chart of standard vzone configuations Okay, this is pretty confusing, but try to study it. A "firm" vzone layer (at least what they call firm) has a M piece under the head, S under shoulders, F under ribs, M under hips, XF under knees, F under legs. But you can change any of the those pieces, so if the M under hips feels too soft, you can exchange just that piece for a F to put under the hips. 1 possible configuation (for 1/2 of queen mattress, the other half can be the same or different): Bottom layer: 3" of XF Next layer: 3" of F Next layer: 3" thick vzone layer (M under head, S under shoulder, M under hips, etc.). Next layer: 2" convoluted layer on top. All zipped up in the cotton/wool cover.

Thanks again As Dewey explained, the 4 layers refers to 2 on each side. So, really you are only picking 2 if you want the same on both sides. Then you need to pick a vzone layer over the phone with them. They would probably have recommendations based on your criteria. The convoluted is meant to be a soft layer. You do not pick out a firmness. They only have 1 firmness level. You would not be able to add 3" inside the mattress cover without great difficulty. You could always put in on top, but I really doubt you would want any more than the 11". They might be able to get dunlop on a special order, but I don't think you could return or exchange. If you really want dunlop, I would probably go with sleepez.
