sad   Latest stab was a bust.    Tried all poly solution for toppers over firm Serta mattress.   Both came from foamdistributing.com and were really cheap like $36 for both.. so wishful thinking.  "supersoft" is the softest they sell, felt somewhat like 20 ILD foambymail latex, so thought it might work.  So hard I woke up in pain at 4 AM and resorted back to 1 inch foam by mail latex 20 ILD under 4 lb memory foam econ green from overstock.

Not great but could sleep.

Just going nuts, folks.

I agree that 2" is probably not enough.  As Kait suggested, you can add 1" or 2" or latex/memory to your various PU pieces.   You have lots of possibly combinations, but nothing may be perfect.  Since you like the MF over latex, you might just want to try putting the 1" firm PU piece under that to see how it works. I have found that I can be pretty satisfied, but never have been 100% satisfied.  I personally can use some memory foam, but I don't have the back issues some others do.
