I wanted to post this a while back, but kept forgetting. Basically, my concern or question if anyone noticed that SZ 1.5" blended talalay layer is different from 3" blended talalay layer in softness and texture. Both supposed to be 32 IDL, but I have doubts about that because laying on 3" layer feels a lot firmer. Besides different feel 1.5" layer has different texture with less holes. Anyone else had this experience?

Does SZ mean sleepEZ? I think Sleepez gets foam from several manufacturers, you probably just got pieces from different ones. Why not call them and ask?

They do look like different manufacturers.   The Latex International I have seen has pretty consistent hole patterns.  Although, I will have to say that my 100% natural looks different than the blended.  It has a smoother surface and more distinct edges on the holes.  Some have thought that the 100% natural is a bit denser and firmer.

I suppose different machines or different plants at LI might look a bit different.  One of you pieces looks like it has a gap in the hole pattern.  Does it seem like there is seem between the holes in that area?

ILDs are just a range.  So, 32, for example, would be just an approximation.  Since one of your pieces is half as thick, have you compared that folded in half to the other and there seems to be a significant difference?

So I talked to the Jeremy from SleepEZ. He said that 1.5 layer is a different mold that's why it feels and looks different. Although he did not have specs on the IDL he said it could be anywhere between 27 & 32. I am going to assume it's at the bottom of the IDL scale because it feels substantially softer. It's a good thing though because Medium IDL 32 is just plain too firm.

He also talked to me about my problem with the firmness and he suggested I would substitute the bottom layer from Firm to Medium, but that's another subject...
