Thinking about ordering from FBM

I think i have to get a latex mattress, if i want NO motion transfer, so...

i looked at a latex mattress made by Verlo, which felt good (firm core, medium/soft topper), but it's $2000.

Then i thought again about FBM...So inexpensive! Can it be as good as other latex mattresses?

Wondering if a 6" firm core and 2" topper will be good for me? I'm 5'4'', 120lbs, boyfriend is 5'11", 165. He doesn't care what he sleeps on, but i do want it to be supportive enough.

Is there ANY Reason to go with a pre-made mattress (i.e. from Verlo)?

Thank you so much!!

And now for a different opinion. I have FBM's 6" firm and 3" soft with a Cuddle Bed mattress cover. I'm 5'1, weigh135-150, BF is over 6' weights 250, both side sleepers. We are in awe of this bed; best we've ever slept on. We tend to like soft beds, and this bed provides good support while being soft at the same time. It's firm enough to sit on the edge without sliding off.  Maybe the platform bed it's on adds to the firmness, while the Cuddle Bed adds softness. Others have described a jello-like feel to latex. I noticed this when I unpacked the 3" topper, but the Cuddle Bed eliminated this characteristic. Now the bed has a soft, sinking in feeling (in a good way.) One thing we both noticed is how comfortable our legs are.  I tend to have restless legs and he has arthritis in his knee and usually puts a pillow underneath his knee. My legs feel totally relaxed now and don't twitch around, while he no longer needs the pillow. I guess we're just lucky that it worked out, as I was skeptical about ordering a mattress through the mail.  I'm not familiar with the Verlo mattress. I might have gotten a premade mattress or a Flobeds or SleepEZ set-up had my budget allowed it but I doubt I would have found anything more comfortable. Good luck in your search.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I'm a little confused (i'm not hugely experienced with 'latex talk'), so forgive me: are all the latex pieces you own, including Latex International, insufficient in your mind? Or is it just the FBM stuff. And, are you going to upgrade your collection?

And, which latex mattress (bought from a store, intact) would you recommend? Thanks so much!

The Latex International latex I own is very high quality.  I highly recommend it.

I'm not sure if there are any decent latex mattresses in a store.

Good luck to you.

You may want to get some of the Lux R as a base. Let it air out a week (it's a little smelly).
