I'm planning to construct a DIY latex bed and would like suggestions on a high quality, non-quilted, zippered mattress cover (to encase the latex layers). Over this will be a mattress protector. Any suggestions? Thanks! |
Some possibilities: * FoamByMail covers -- There is a heavy-duty non-stretchy cotton/poly cover, for which you can choose the depth; it is sturdy but it has a zipper on only one end, so it will be difficult to get on & off the mattress. There is also a stretchy light-weight terrycloth cover, which zips all around. It is available in two depths, but you might be able to order a custom one if necessary. * Sleep-EZ has several covers; one of them is described as a stretchy non-quilted cover. It has a zipper but I can't tell from the picture whether it goes all the way around; you'd have to check on that. (Note the $49 shipping charge listed there; that seems pretty steep to me.) * SleepLikeABear offers a bunch of mattress covers; looks like two of them are non-quilted. SLAB quality is always good.
I'm sure there are others out there; these are the ones that came to mind. This message was modified Oct 14, 2011 by Catherine

I appreciate those suggestions. Having thought about what I'm looking for a little more, what would be perfect is a cover with quilting on the sides to provide some form to the mattress but no or minimal quilting on the top...zippered of course....any thoughts? |
