Those of you here who know me well, know that I never joined this forum with the intention of talking negatively about any particular brand. However I have to say how glad I am that I am no longer selling any S branded product....not exactly because I think they are overrated like most here do. Mostly because of the lack of transparency in the product. I had a warranty return mattress come back to the store today 'high end' Stearns and Foster pillowtop. The specs on this bed list wool and silk fibres in the pillowtop, as well as latex and memory foam, although undescript on how much exactly they used. After cutting this thing open and actually inspecting I see that the latex and memory foam are bonded together into the same 1/2" layer, so they are not even seperate layers. There is no wool or silk in the fibre blend that I can see whatsoever. I work with the stuff every day, I know what wool and silk looks/feels like...there is virtually none in here whatsoever. I might take photos another day when my cell phone isnt dead. This really frustrates me from 3 different levels...1, because I sold this stuff for years believing it was actually good product. 2, because these companies are blatantly misleading customers with their spec sheets, and 3, most people have the wool pulled over their eyes (or in this case polyester). |
Thanks for the post. For many of us, this just confirms our justification for not buying those "S" brands and for the newbie's maybe this will convince them. Most of us have been victimized by the marketing and misrepresentations at some point in our lives and hopefully, this will put at least a small dent in their profits. |
