I just bought a Sealy Hope Mills mattress and I've been sleeping too warm. I have never had such a problem before. The mattress is in the same room as my previous and the room temperature is the same. I'd like to change it for another Sealy mattress as firm as possible. I'm considering the Bryant Park or the Eaglewood Cushion Firm because they don't have memory foam on top, which I have been told is the material that causes to sweat at night. The Stonedge could be another option but I believe it has memory foam on top. Any suggestions on what might be the firmest and coolest? I appreciate your input. Thank you in advance. |
You might sleep hot because of memory foam on the top layer. Not sure, but memory foam sleeps hot. Katit |
Thanks for your input, Kait. There are so many different foams that at this point I'm looking for a mattress that has the least on top. |
I've also been looking at getting a firm inner spring mattress and using my own toppers to soften it as I see fit. I'm using the US-Mattress website to try and determine which mattress might be best. They rate the beds for comfort and durability (altho I wouldn't rely that much on their rankings) and also show "whats in the bed." Its AMAZING how many layers / inches of foam most of those mattresses have! From what I can see the Eaglewood seems to have the least top foam of any of the major brands. But it does have a supersoft pressure relief inlay layer that may be memory foam - I suppose you could call them (or any other retailer) and find out. Also, I have no idea how comfortable the mattress is, or how much top foam it would take to soften it up. Good luck... Steve |
Thank you, Steve. I appreciate your help. |
Actually I was wrong, the Bryant Park has even less - 1/2" vs 3/4" in the Eaglewood. As I said, US-Mattress.com has details including "whats in this mattress." I'm also looking at buying a firm Sealy and putting latex on it - see my newer thread to that effect... Also, Sealy is pretty easy to figure out. The lowest end models are called Preferred and they don't have any memory foam or latex. The Reserve models are a step up and have some memory foam. The Signature models have both memory and latex foams. The reserve and signature models also have more coils and better edging than the preferred.
