Shoulder/hip pain...need advice
After a lot of research and sitting on mattresses, we settled on a king size pocket coil with 3" talay latex on top with in ILD of 19. Bought from Gardner mattress in Salem, MA. My wife loves our new bed. I have been having shoulder and hip pain though. I have it a few months but it hasn't gotten any better. If it helps, I'm 5' 8" and about 160lb. I'm leaning toward a 1" topper and hoping that will help. Any suggestions on an ILD for that that will help me and not leave the bed too soft for my wife? Guess i can get two twin size ones of different ILDs but worry about them possibly shifting over time. Thanks! E |
Re: Shoulder/hip pain...need advice
Sorry to read about your pain. Can you tell if it is due to sinking in too much (not enough support/too soft), or because it's not sinking in enough on your hips and shoulder (pressure points/too hard). That clarification might help folks to make suggestions about address how to resolve your problem....I'd say you've given it enough time for your body to adjust, though the mattress is likely to soften more over time (not so fast with latex as other foams). Just my two cents' worth of suggestion a bit of clarification to get the ball rolling for starters!

Thanks for the quick reply. Definately more of the pressure point/too hard feeling. Occasional tingling along the arm as well like a pinched nerve sensation. |

Zoning is another option that might work if you could your side of the mattress zoned and leave your wife's as is. If you want to really learn more, there is a whole lot of great information you will find by reading further in this forum, using the search bar. Post #31 on the link below is a very informative analysis - one of the most intensive analyses I've ever read of mattress technology, if I can call it that..... http://www.whatsthebest-mattress.com/forum/overstuffing-mattress-case-foam-layers/16508-A-1.html Hope this helps! |
