Sleep EZ "soft" Dunlop? HELP!

Hi everyone!

My husband and I found the latex mattress we love at Sovn in Dallas- seller of Berkeley Ergonomics latex. But, it's like $3,100 for the mattress and we do not have that kind of budget right now! They told us it was 6" of Dunlop medium 29 ILD and 2" of solf Talalay 25 ILD.

So, we decided to order from SleepEZ and try to get close to that for under $2,000 with the foundations. Shaun did recommend that we go with firm on the bottom, so we did. We would up getting 3" firm base (40 ILD), 3" medium middle (30 ILD), and 2" medium Talalay top. Well, it is like a rock. Time to exchange the top layer.

Ironically, when we moved the medium 3" Dunlop 30 ILD layer to the top, it is noticably bouncier more conforming than the medium 2" Talalay on top. Which has me confused b/c I thought Talalay was softer. Is this b/c it's a blended Talalay perhaps?

For whatever reason, it seems that we both prefer the feel of the Dunlop.

So--- Since I liked the feel of the 100% natural Talalay soft 25 ILD at Sovn, does anyone know the Dunlop ILD equivalent I should get to get roughly the same feeling of soft/conforming, but still supportive? Shaun has a soft 20-22 ILD or an extra soft 16 ILD available in Dunlop. Thoughts? We're looking for a little bouncy and conforming, but still supportive to be the top layer!

Advice much appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Or should I just give up and go over to Ft. Worth and get the 8 or 10" all natural Talalay medium 28-32 ILD from The Mattress Factory?

Well, I would go over to Ft. Worth and get the 10inches from Mattress Factory.  Our old friend Phoenix did more research than anyone I've seen on this forum and he bought his there.  They were willing to customize it to his specifications.  His posts with the specs were removed for some reason (not related to his veracity).  If anyone here remembers his specs, please post it here.  Here is one of his posts:   http://www.whatsthebest-mattress.com/forum/latex-toppers/16314-0-1.html

He got one that was flipable and I believe had 3" of 32 ILD in the middle, and 3" of 22? ILD on the top and bottom without any PU foam.  You might ask them when you go there and they would probably remember him (but not the name Phoenix, obviously).

Good luck, and report back what you find out.

I think being able to test drive the mattress you are going to buy is a plus.  Although there are stories here where people tried out an "S" mattress in the store, liked the feel and then received a mattress that felt different.

Once again, if they have a "Full refund in first X days (less shipping costs) if you are not completely satisfied", it's less risk.  I don't see any "satisfaction guarantee" but A+ rating from BBB.  I think Phoenix is knowledgeable and trust what he has to say.
