I slept for the first time in my sleep science latex mattress with foundation.
I woke up at night to see that the mattress had sagged in the middle!!!!!!!!! more ever the foundation is made up of metal - bars and there is just a thin vinyl? cover that covers the top of foundation. Where the latex mattress has sagged in the middle the vinyl cover of the foundation too has sagged and is bottoming out!!!!. I did not expect this. It has been a shocker. What should I do? I am very worried.

Did you purchase the foundation from Costco as well? If so I think it would be easy to return that, and potentially find a more solid base made with wood slats to replace it with would be better for the mattress. Becuase of the nature of the material I doubt the mattress is actually damaged from this unless it is torn by the metal in the base. You are probably ok there, just need an adequate foundation. |
Answer is simple - you should call Costco and return it all. Whether you order a replacement from Costco or go to another latex mattress manufacturer is another question. The Sam's Club latex mattress looks excellent, and I think Flobeds and Sleepez both offer a great product. All with fast delivery times. As to foundation, I would not purchase another online foundation. I would just go to your local mattress store and buy a rigid foundation there. |
I seem to recall reading (maybe in the hellalong Costco latex mattress thread) that someone else had a problem where the delivery guys forgot to attach some important parts to their foundation. Perhaps this happened to you? |
YES, the foundation came along with the sleep science mattress. It is sagging in the middle. I looked under neath the bed and saw that the vinyl cover of the foundation has also sagged in the middle and THAT WHERE THE SAGGING HAS OCCURED THAT PART OF THE foundation has no SUPPORTING metal bar/s!!!!!!! I was told by delivery guys that that is how the foundation is made!! what should I do? Should I return the latex mattress along with foundation? I am so shocked. Really, I did not expect to go through this. |
You may want to call Sleep Science and see what they say (google them). As a temporary basis, you may want to put the mattress directly on the floor and see how you like it with a solid surface underneath. If you like it that way, then you may want to keep and have them replace/fix the foundation. I can't believe it is working properly if it is sagging. |
The foundation has no central support bar where the mattress has sagged in the middle. The foundation is poorly made. It is all metal and there is just a thin vinyl cover over it. It came with 4 legs. I asked sleep science if I could just put the mattress foundation without legs on my iron rails that are connected to my head board and foot board. They said that is okay. So that is what I did. I had the delivery guys put the foundation on my iron rails and then they put the letex mattress on top of the foundation. Why are they selling this latex mattress with a faulty foundation? Should I get a complete new replacement and give this one more try?
This time just putting the foundation NOT on my iron rails but just the 4 legs that it comes with? But then some people said the foundation starts to make a creeking noise. Or should I go with sams club latex mattress? |
Can anyone please give me link to sams club latex mattress? Is that latex mattress has dunlop or talalay latex? how is their foundation? Thanks |
But you have asked a lot of questions and you have received a lot of answers. It would seem to me that it is time for you to do some research on your own. A lot of the research can be done right on this website where a lot of questions have been posted and a lot of responders have answered,....to all kinds of questions. But when you keep asking simplistic questions like, "please give me link to Sam's Club latex mattresses" it is hard to take you seriously. If you do not know how to Google Sam's Club, then I don't think the people here can be of much assistance to you. This message was modified Apr 30, 2010 by eagle2

Personally, I would call Costco and ask them about it. They will take it back. In the meantime, do as someone else has suggested, while you have the opportunity: Put it on the floor and see if you like it before returning the whole bed. |
also, if you bought from costco and need to return it, just call customer service, they will pick it up for free and give complete refund...costco is awesome
mine has no sag, so either you got a bad one or something wrong with foundation
sleep science foundations for latex and foam are identical, i have had a few and no issues so something is wrong This message was modified Apr 30, 2010 by randys
