Wow, this is the first time I have ever seen anything bad written about SleepEZ. Do you guys think this is real? Maybe this forum is just s sham front for Flobeds and Sleepez? :) Link to bad review |
That's interesting. I believe it's the first negative review I have ever read on SleepEZ. This forum isn't a sham front for anyone. SleepEZ isn't even a sponsor. |
I sure hope this forum isn't a sham or front :) It kinda surprised me that review. it was soooo opposite everything I read here that I couldn't believe it.... Actually, who pays for and makes money from this forum? Is there a company , as the description on the site is very vague on details... This message was modified Dec 14, 2007 by novahelp

That's a fair question, and one better answered by someone connected with the domain name. I know that FloBeds has been a regular sponsor of this site, but they don't own the domain and exercise absolutely no control over its operation. |
I was surprised also to read about the bad review. I hope it is a fleeting problem that the owners of SleepEZ fix right away since customer service is important. This site is definitely not a sham for Flobeds and SleepEZ from what I have been reading since I joined either in April or May 2007. So far I hve read mostly positive posts about these two companies. There are many other companies discussed on this site also and in the reviews. It is a shame that the former website started to have problems and a new website had to be started since it was a wealth of information and the reviews had the people's posting names on them. My experience with a latex kit has a good ending since I got a bed that I am comfortable with and not allergic to. I had the best service so far from FloBeds.com. The latex core exchanges have been easy to do and it was wonderful experience without any pressure since I had 90 days to make a decision despite taking some time in making my bed the right comfort level I need to get a good night's sleep. I like how I could sleep on a combination of cores for a few nights until I was sure and I could experiment since I got 2 sides of the bed since I bought the split cores and I got three layers of cores with a topper. I love how I have made each side of my bed a little bit different so I can take turns sleeping on each side. Sometimes I prefer the super firm side and other nights I prefer the bed just very firm. I love how if I meet someone, I only need to exchange latex cores and still can keep the bed I love and the combination of latex cores on my side that I am comfortable with. I love how I have no chemicals in my bed since I am chemical sensitive as well as health conscience. I love how Dave at FloBeds cares that I am comfortable with my bed and had allowed me to exchange my 2" Talalay soft latex topper for first a 1.5" medium Dunlap topper and then for a 1.5" nonconvoluted soft Talalay Topper that I now have and like. I love how he sent me a new cover that is wonderful and sturdy when I complained that the other cover had a tiny rip when I first got it. He told me to wait until my bed was the way I wanted it since I did a lot of latex exchanges and I am glad I waited since the new zippered bed cover has a flap to cover the latex and is soft on top and I like it a lot. I like how I was able to try out three leg heights and chose the 10" leg height with sending the shorter legs back an easy thing to do without any pressure on me. I love how Dave worked with me to slice a soft latex pillow to make it lower for my head. I love how I got two automatic credits when I told Dave the price when down during my 90 days on his website. Within two days my credit card was credited. The only problems I really had is that I went too soft and had a lot of latex core exchanges to get to the very firm bed I have now. But it was easy to do since packing the latex cores up by shrinking them make it easy to send back in the box they came in and I live right near an UPS center. The first time, I had them pick up the boxes but then I learned I could have someone help me put them in my hatchback and return them myself at the nearby UPS center with not much stress at all. I initially had problems with the pine smell at the beginning (was then wishing I went with the Fir but now I am glad I got the pine) that went totally away. I was not allergic to the pine smell (I am chemically sensitive) but it bothered me since I do not like smells in my bedroom. Dave had told me to be patient and air out the slatbox and it would go away. He would have refunded me my money with no restocking fee for just the platform or for everything if returned it within 90 days. I like that type of policy. I am a real person in NJ and I was told about FloBeds.com by two happy clients of mine. I am sure the others that work out FloBeds are wonderful also from reading posts here but I dealth with Dave since he answered the phone the first time called. I also have heard about good customer service at SleepEZ except for that one bad post. I did not go with them since I dislike restocking fees and I do not like the pressure of less time to make a decision and only one latex core exchange. Good luck with whatever decision you make but I learned buying a bed from a store with only one mattress exchange is a lot of pressure and not that great since you never know how a bed feels until you are sleeping on it. Others have had great success with other companies also. I like how we are not censored on this site and can share our experiences to help others make their own decision and we are all supportive of the decisions others make. |
I hope this site isn't a sham. And I found in the legacy forums people posting returns of their latex kits (just a couple though) and these were not edited or removed from the forums. I can't imagine what is going on with this customer of SleepEz. At this point, given that shawn tried to convince me to spend LESS money and get the 8500 instead of the 10000, I can't believe that this blog/post is real? Or something else must be going on... |
I started reading this forum(it was the old forum then) about 5 years ago when I was looking for advice before buying our Natural Response Tropical Dream latex queen bed(which we still love and would buy again in a heartbeat) and have never seen anything that remotely looked like shilling for a particular brand. It's a great source for info about all brands and types of mattresses. Considering that the negative post about Sleepez is on an advertising blog for a guy who owns a mattress store or company, I'd say take it with a grain of salt. |
Even the best of companies drop the ball now and then. I have no experience with SleepEZ, but they seem to offer a good product at a fair price. My guess is that if everyone had as bad an experience as that poster, there would many more negative comments (think S-companies) on the internet. |
I don't know what's going on there either. I ordered a mattress from SleepEZ --which I also found to be too hard--but an exchange layer was promptly sent out. Unfortunately I discovered I was one of those people who just couldn't sleep on a Talalay latex mattress at all and had to return it. The only rough spot came when after three weeks I still had not received a credit on the return. When I called Shawn he said that a return had come in to the warehouse without any identifiers on it and he had been waiting for a call from whoever had sent it back. I did find this a little hard to believe since it was shipped back in three boxes with an address label (to and from) on both ends of the boxes as well as an additional label inside each box AND a letter inside one of the boxes explaining the reason for the return. Still, I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in case the guys in the warehouse had removed the merchandise from the boxes and then tossed the containers without keeping track of where it had come from. Shawn said it would take a few days to process the return, but a week later I still hadn't received a credit. I was starting to get a little anxious about what was beginning to seem like a run-around, so I called Shawn again. He apologized and asked me to give him my credit card number so he could put it through immediatedly. And that was exactly what he did. SleepEZ is a family business and I get the impression that Shawn pretty much runs it by himself. I suppose it's possible for things to get a little back-logged or to slip through the cracks but totally ignored or blown off? That doesn't sound like the SleepEZ I and many others who have contributed to this forum did business with. When a merchant engages in bad business practices you hear about it on this forum. This is the first totally negative thing I have read about SleepEz and it wasn't even actually in this forum. Makes me wonder about how legit that other forum is. |
I can only hope that my experience with SleepEZ is not considered a sham. I have no connection with them whatsoever, other than being a customer. |
Cloud9 and Beergut, thank you both for sharing your expiences with SleepEZ. Cloud9, I am glad things worked out for you and you and your wife are happy with your Latex Kit. I know I am just a customer also and my wonderful experiences with FloBeds is not a sham and I try to share to help others make educated decisions like others had helped me in the past. I know others have shared their good experiences with other companies an their bad experiences with other companies. People just need to search the archives since this is a new forum and to check out the posts on this new forum and old forum on companies they are considering. I know with FloBeds the first cover I got had a little bit of a rip inside (could not see on the outside) and then also after changing so many latex cores and zippering it so much, the zipper still worked but the threads around it had come off in a few places, When I called Dave, I was told he would replace the cover under warranty but wanted to wait until all my latex cores were exchanged so I would not be unzipping it so much. Then I called again what was taking so long and was told he is getting new covers I will like better and are better made and I will be happy. He was right that as soon as the new covers arrived to his warehouse, he emailed me to let me know mine was shipping and sending me a postage paid label to return the other one. It was an easy process since I just returned the old cover in the box and put the lable on it and could either call UPS for a pickup but I chose to drive 3 miles to the local UPS store that gave me a receipt that it was being returned and I was happy that it was so easy to do. I love my new cover and sometimes continuing communication is the key to knowing what is happening. My new cover is made so well with the zipper never catching onto the latex since it has a flap and the top is more giving and so comfortable. I like this forum since we can share the good and bad without having our posts deleted like other forums would do. I like how we all care and want to share to help others.
