In one of my thread someone said "latex is good"

 Please let me know how?

I don't care for organic latex or blended latex.

I bought a soft latex mattress from spring air and the "touching it and sleeping on it are totally 2 different things."

Touching it feels nice but sleeping is terrible.

It feels soft to touch but when sleeping the latex "bumps" and "continues to bump" against my body. Result I barely have any decent sleep.

The "pushback" by latex even though mine is supposedly a soft latex(heck I don't really know just what the sales guy told me that it was soft feeling latex) is unbearable and created another "different type of pressure not "unlike the pressure created by a spring bed"

So with latex we have "pushback (bumping) pressure against the body"

How is this supposed to give "pressure relief"?  Anyone, someone please explain this. many many thanks in advance.

I think the bumping you are referring to is bounce.  I know what you mean...when I slept on latex padding I woke myself up everytime I moved...because I bounced!  This can be solved by mixing it with a memory foam(zero bounce) or other kind of foam.

The reason latex is good is because it lasts longer than any other kind of foam.  Foam "dies" when the holes in the material break into each other under pressure...it happens when pressure(weight) is applied.  Eventually the foam is just flat, tho it may not look flat.  Latex is very resilient, the holes don't easily break into one another, so it lasts a longer time.  Polyurethane foam seems to break down the quickest, tho there are different grades of that too.

Thanks kait, appreciate your input but I did not meant that.

what I meant by bump is "pushback pressure" applied by latex.

I don't care if it  lasts longer or if it is organic. Because first thing is it comfortable to sleep on. With this pushback it is not comfortable.

I don't know if this is with all latex or not. I just want a comfortable bed that gives pressure relief and supports me.

all beds push back against the body.  this is a basic law of the universe...equal and opposing reactions....how the mattress spreads out the weight is the issue.  If I recall this mattress you have is latex on top of polyurethane foam core...it is hard to say what is causing you the issues.  the idea of natural latex is that it spreads weight out very evenly across the body due to its excellent elasticity. however everyone is different.

some people buy latex and then try memory foam with better success, and the opposite is also true; sometimes this is both because of pressure related issues.  I would say that the correct combination of either material could provide excellent pressure relief.  however there may be other factors to consider and there usually is.
