Decided to go with a product that is local and they come pick it up if you don't like it. Tempur-pedic Cloud Luxe, or Cloud Supreme. Rhapsody was also good, but definitely had more of a traditional tempurpedic feel and the other two were very quick response. Would be nice to get some real input from people that have slept on them for a while. Thanks |
We purchased the Cloud Luxe about 3 weeks ago and I sleep soundly and incredibly comfortably through the entire night. I have Multiple Myeloma, a bone marrow/blood cancer, so I have had back problems since my dx back in 2001, waking up every morning with some pretty significant pain. I wish I had purchased this 10 years ago, but the Cloud Luxe was only introduced I think a year or so ago according to what a salesman told me. We bought the California Split King, which is two doubles( ? or twins, whatever) that fit nicely in the bed frame of a California King. We love the ability to individually adjust each side of the bed - head and feet - not to mention the massage feature for your shoulders and feet/legs. OTH, my wife is thinking she might want something a bit more firm, perhaps the Cloud Supreme or the Allura. We have the 90-day period in which she can trade hers in for one of those two (or whatever might work for her) and only pay the difference in the price of the mattress (or receive a refund if price is lower). She's going to try it for another week or two, and during that time, we will try out those two a local stores. We purchased direct from Tempur-Pedic when they were offering 60 months of Zero percent financing, so that helped a lot. Personally I wouldn't give up the Luxe - I love it! It's a LOT of money for most of us - not an easy decision. But then, many of us DO spend 1/3 of our lives there AND have back problems. If it doesn't work for you at all, you can return it (just the mattresses) for a full refund. |
We have the split King too. Bought the Rhapsody for her and Cloud Luxe for me. I mentioned it before, I'm having slight back pain with both mattresses, I don't think it's the mattress because we stayed at a hotels over the weekend on inner spring mattressess and still have the back pain. My wife liked the Rhapsody in store but we switched for a bit since I was having the back pain and now she refuses to give up the Cloud Luxe...haha... I may try a different bed but I didn't get a return guarantee. So if you are in the Nor Cal, I can give you a huge discount on the a twin XL Rhapsody...haha.... |
I sell mattresses, but bought my Tempur from a different company than I work for... I purchased my Cloud Luxe in May, 2011. I also purchased the adjustable option (had used an adjustable for two-years with a pocketed coil bed and really like both) since this is a review for the Luxe, though, let me clarify some issues: I tried my first tempur bed in 2006 (October 1st to be exact... it made that much of an impacton me!) and it was the Rhapsody model. I had incurred a neck injury back in 1983, received alot of chiropractic attention and now have full use of the neck vertebrae and muscles. When I first tried the Rhapsody, the residual pain (that you get used to after a while) literally went away in about 10 seconds leaving me almost speechless to the response! It cost $3099 in a queen size at the time and I started to save a little money each month in hopes of getting one. About two years later (maybe a little more), the CloudSupreme was introduced and the softness of their ES foam was immediately more comfortable to me, but the firmness of the next layer down (according to Tempur's pictures) felt too firm. I tried the Tempur Cloud a few months later and still preferred the Rhapsody overall. I heard that the Luxe would be out a little while later and tried it when it first came out... loved it! the new adjustable with the Luxe was almost $5000 and I was really glad I had saved that money at the time... but I cannot express the dramatic difference I experience when sleeping now vs. about 7 months ago! I was informed that I needed the waterproof cover (got one) and that it might be warmer than what I slept on at the time. The waterproof cover does slightly change the feel of the top, but not bnecessarily in a bad way. The temperature difference was really not an issue as I removed one layer of the linens I had used up to that time (less washing when I do the bed linens!)I have heard (and read0 that some people had issues with the smell of a new mattress, but I sleep with my windows open about 11 months out of the year and I can't say the "new car smell" bothered me at all. Overall, my sleep has greatly improved, the minor, dull pain I have had in my neck for over 25 years goes away (still) every time I get into bed, I wake up about 5-7 minutes before my alarm most days and I can't stop appreciating my Luxe... I sure wish it had cost less though! |
many people are having issues with Rhapsody and cloud luxe. So beware. |
