Hello all, I am new to the memory foam mattress and I am also new to this forum. My current mattress is Koran mattress. It was a gift from my mom, and it is suppose to be very firm mattress. It is kind of hard in the beginning and it is guaranteed to last 15 years. However I notice that the center of the mattress to form a concave down shape after 8 years of usage. Is it normal? I thought it has a 20 years of usable life. Any how, I start look for a softer mattress and come accross Ara 13", NovaForm, and Tempurpedic mattress. For King size with foundation, I have these options Ara 13" : 1,699.99 + tax = 1848.74 (ara foundation) Novaform Pure Comfort :799.99 + tax + 200 + tax (foundation) ~ 1100 Tempurpedic (local) (Advantage bed) with 3rd party foundation + 2 queen tempur pillow = 1800.00 Which one should I go for? Thanks |
I only know about the Tempurpedic not the other brand. Tempurpedic, IMHO, is fine for people who have strong backs and no sleep "issues". I know people who have loved their Tempurpedic but unlike their ads, I do not believe that people with back problems find them to be good for their backs. The bottom line is they are too soft and do not provide proper support.IMHO.I have tried Tempurpedic and about 5 other types of memory foam and NONE of them worked for me. They all started out okay for a few nights and then caused me back pain. I find that latex in layers, from firm up to soft is the way to go. No more than 1" of memory foam and for me even that is too much. YMMV. |
