I am in Dallas and am just looking at my options: http://dallas.backpage.com/FurnitureForSale/799-100-all-natural-latex-mattresses-free-delivery/9752481 This is the store and maybe the mattress: (Englander is the brand?) http://shopmattresssmart.com/products/Englander-Natures-Finest-Harmonious-All-Natural-Latex-Mattress.html

Garbage. Do you see the regular PU foam there? Only 2" latex. Pass on this one. |
Thanks. I will patiently wait on the Costco flippable latex from Sleep Science that supposedly will be available again in April *fingers crossed* |
Hi MC, I had an Englander Nature's Finest All Natural Latex bed. I'm not sure it was the same model as the link you gave, as they all have different names per store to prevent price comparison. I can tell you it was the most uncomfortable bed I ever owned. Before that one, I'd had an Englander all latex mattress for 17 yrs. It wasn't a pillow top and was flippable. I loved it! I've since read where Englander was bought out or changed ownership. I'm not sure about that, but I am sure the newer Englander was in no way comparable to the old one. In the store the new one felt great, but once I'd slept on it for a few nights it became a torture device. Way to hard and unforgiving on pressure points. (I'm a side sleeper). I hope the Sleep Science latex is in stock at Costco soon and also hope it works for you. Whatever you decide, please post back and keep us updated. Thanks for all the info. Today, I rotated our Tempurpedic Deluxe and took off a water proof select comfort pad. It has microfiber top with a thin waterproof plastic type feel below that. I learned here that this pad may be making the tempurpedic feel more firm? Worth a shot until I can try the Costco latex to hopefully soften it up. This tempurpedic deluxe has basically 4" of 5.3 memory foam on top. I realize this costco sleep science latex has a different feel than tempurpedic memory foam, but will it feel softer for my wife since she is a side sleeper and softer for me, but supportive since I am a back sleeper? Also, while on sleep numbers website, I noticed some pretty good prices in thier outlet on Natura Toppers and comforters. In case anybody is looking here is the link: http://www.selectcomfort.com/eng/categories/outlet Thanks MC

I've never tried the Costco beds. Randy's has had a TP and Sleep Science Emma, and now he sleeps on the Sleep Science Latex. Hopefullly he can compare the three beds for you. The mattress protector may indeed be making your TP feel firmer. As mentioned so often in these threads, small things can make a huge difference. I thought this was interesting.. <a href="http://fixyourtempurpedic.blogspot.com/"target="_blank">Fix Your TempurPedic Mattress</a>. Please note as it says... it will void your warranty. I couldn't face that thing again, (Sealey). At least they got a few years out of it, I kept notes and after just 6 months I was having hip pain and back pain and it never left. After 2 years torture I changed to a new torture the old spring mattress with latex layers (you have heard this many times now from me). Thanks for sharing. Interesting. By the way click on the little box above the message posting, it says "link" click that and then copy the URL there. It makes it easier for us to look at the "hotlink" then. Thanks. I just read you have a tempurpedic, how old is it? Is it causing pain? This message was modified Mar 27, 2010 by Leo3

I don't know how many of the layers are actually glued together. When I took the cover off my TP, there was a thin sewn white undercover and I could see the different colors and feel the layers, but I couldn't tell if they were glued or not. Maybe the comfort layer and support layer directly under it are glued, but they could still be flipped. Also the base air channel layer(s) at the bottom Now, I'm certainly not recommending the procedure described in that link... But, if you think about it, we're always saying how great the flippable mattresses were, and how great it is being able to move layers around. Also, look at all that has been accomplished by "mattress surgery". If you had a TP and loved it when you got it, then it became so uncomfortable as to be useless, then why not open it up and see what you could do? Providing, of course, it was no longer under warranty. Hmm... what about adding a layer of latex in between those TP layers? I've seen it time after time on this forum-- people are ingenious when it comes to customizing and creating their beds.

Is it still under warranty? I read some warranties are not transferrable upon new owners. Not sure what mattress company that was. Seemed like another way out. I wouldn't buy from friends anymore |
