I had an Englander Nature's Finest All Natural Latex bed. I'm not sure it was the same model as the link you gave, as they all have different names per store to prevent price comparison. I can tell you it was the most uncomfortable bed I ever owned.

Before that one, I'd had an Englander all latex mattress for 17 yrs. It wasn't a pillow top and was flippable. I loved it! I've since read where Englander was bought out or changed ownership. I'm not sure about that, but I am sure the newer Englander was in no way comparable to the old one.

In the store the new one felt great, but once I'd slept on it for a few nights it became a torture device. Way to hard and unforgiving on pressure points. (I'm a side sleeper).

I hope the Sleep Science latex is in stock at Costco soon and also hope it works for you. Whatever you decide, please post back and keep us updated.

I realize this costco sleep science latex has a different feel than tempurpedic memory foam, but will it feel softer for my wife since she is a side sleeper and softer for me, but supportive since I am a back sleeper?

The mattress protector may indeed be making your TP feel firmer. As mentioned so often in these threads, small things can make a huge difference.

Natalie, I read the link you posted and are they serious?  Taking that thin layer off helps?  I had the Sealey Trueform (just like the Tempurpedic) and I took unzipped the cover and washed it, and I did see all of the pilling and lint garbage I tried to vacuum that up and used a lint brush (never suceeded fully but it was workout).  I even ripped the cover that is sewn just to see what was causing the pain!  Never thought to remove it.  Are they saying flip it over?  All of the layers were glued, are they saying Tempurpedic isn't all glued?  Anyway, I did flip the whole thing ove, memory foam at the bottom, I still couldn't sleep on it.  I even put toppers over it.  I think the PU foam just, excuse my french, crapped out.  Even though my husband says I should try it again, is is softer now.  Yeah like marshmellow.  No thanks.  He can sleep on anything.  Some people can, not me.

I couldn't face that thing again, (Sealey).  At least they got a few years out of it, I kept notes and after just 6 months I was having hip pain and back pain and it never left.  After 2 years torture I changed to a new torture the old spring mattress with latex layers (you have heard this many times now from me).

Sorry I only looked at the second URL you had, I didn't even notice the first one.  But I did look at the first one just now, they don't even tell you what ILD it is.  I would pass on that one too.

I just read you have a tempurpedic, how old is it?  Is it causing pain? 

I just read the link too...I am also very confused about what they have accomplished, or set out to accomplish.  They say to not try to seperate the layers that are glued...I thought all of the layers are glued together....perhaps not the base foam layer?  So they flip and rotate the base foam layer and then the glued Tempur layers together? 

Now, I'm certainly not recommending the procedure described in that link...

But, if you think about it, we're always saying how great the flippable mattresses were, and how great it is being able to move layers around. Also, look at all that has been accomplished by "mattress surgery".

If you had a TP and loved it when you got it, then it became so uncomfortable as to be useless, then why not open it up and see what you could do? Providing, of course, it was no longer under warranty. Hmm... what about adding a layer of latex in between those TP layers?

I've seen it time after time on this forum-- people are ingenious when it comes to customizing and creating their beds.

About a year. i think my mistake was buying it used from a friend of mine. He had it 2 years and probably already broke it down. I actually called tempurpedic before I bought it and of course they said it would be fine if I couldn't afford a new one. It has never felt right or comfortable. Live and Learn!

Is it still under warranty?  I read some warranties are not transferrable upon new owners.  Not sure what mattress company that was.  Seemed like another way out.

i agree, really from the standpoint that if the mattress is basically just not working anymore it might be worth trying this method.  if it can't get any worse then you got nothing to lose right?
