I am at such a loss.  After receiving a credit for a failed Sealy Posturpedic from 2 years ago I have to make a decision between a new 2011 Posturpedic or a new Vera Wang Latex from Sleep Train.  This is not the old Vera Wang but it has 93% blended latex and the rest is PU foam.

This is a final sale and I can't find any information on the internet about these new Vera Wang Latex beds.  Should I just by the Posturpedic (no money out of pocket) and put a latex topper on it.  Or but the new Vera Wang for $2,800.  Does anyone have any good advice on this?  My biggest fear is sagging and waking up really sore (like I am on our current Tempurpedic).

I know they put them on the Serta stabl base box spring foundations.  I had one of those foundations with my iComfort and the twin XL foundation had an 8" gap between vertical support rods all down the center of bed, head to toe.  There are a couple rods that run the length head to toe, but they have no vertical support under there.

If you're really keen, you can feel the foundation surface and tell the vertical rod pattern - There's a rounded edge that goes down to the cross slats.  If you feel a big gap in those rounded edges all down center of bed, I say it will sag.  You'll have to pull mattress off obviously and salesman might look at you a bit weird.

100% positive my foundation sagged about 1/2" right in the hips / butt area.

Far as the Serta Vera Wang latex .... I tried them out and they are pricey.  Those 2" layers should only cost about $200 retail and the 6" core can't be all that expensive.  The markups are ridiculous.

Asking $1699 for twin XL with 2" talalay latex over 6" core foam.  Cheapy box spring.  big bucks.  then $2,499 to up over $3k for top end twin model.  cha ching $$$  Awful lot for a designer cover that will just get covered with protector and fitted sheet.

I like the Sealy box springs better.  It should have vertical support rods spaced every 4" from side to side.  If yours are built that way, lot less prone to sagging.

The Simmons boxes I've seen are patterned like the Serta.    It's all just Legget and Platt semi flex innards in all those brands, but still, I like the Sealy / Stearns and Foster innards better.
