I would appreciate if you guys can point me in the right direction in terms of the answer to the thead title's question.

From another forum I frequent I learned that Overstock is one good site.

But they have slim pickings on a lot of their items, which are either out of stock of the size or color I want.

What are all the other reputable places to buy that kind of stuff online?

Do you know of any reputable eBAY sellers?  I don't think I'd want to blind buy this kind of stuff of eBAY since when I used Toolhaus on the first eBAY seller I was considering buying this stuff from,  I saw that a lot of people claim he lies about the thread counts of his items, and his products are scratchy, etc.  Also, the seller responds to negative feedback about his sheets by saying they are Egyptian cotton so they don't become soft enough until after they are washed several times.  Is that a bogus claim?

What is wrong with ordering from Sears or Penneys?  Reputable and look for promo codes.  I don't trust ebay or others......  My opinion only.

I live in Canada.

Don't have Penneys here AFAIK.

Sears is one of the local department stores I went to, the Bay was the other

At Sears, they only had brands that I've never heard of before, and the consumers who bought some of those products complained about them on the Sears website. Brands like "Whole Home" IIRC.  Plus, almost all the Sears products that I looked like were full of polyester. I hate polyester and all synthetic fabrics, due to pilling and shrinkage and other such issues.  Most of Sears' products weren't even in the store itself; they told me to go search the catalogue, which was just a link to the Sears Canada website.

The Bay was a little better, they at least had name brands I'd heard of and many 100% cotton products. But the selection was very limited, and compared to a cursory search  for some of those same products on eBAY, the Bay in Canada's prices were outrageous.

If you were to buy from Sears, what products would you buy?  If you could post some links to good products on the Sears Canada website, I'd be interested in checking those out.

Maybe the US Sears website has better products than the Canada one? If so, what are some links to good products on the US Sears website?

Thanks Leo.  That does look pretty swank.

I went to the International Shipping portion of the US Sears website, and they claimed to ship all over the world, yet won't let me select "Canada" from the drop down menu.  They must be trying to force me to buy the crappy products from Sears Canada instead. That's annoying! angry

I guess I could arrange for a proxy buyer in the US if US Sears is the only good place that has something I could use, but that will be a major pain in the butt. sad

I don't really know what I want either, other than that I want my bed to look as classy as possible and also to have high-quality and comfortable fabrics on it.

In Canada almost every body lies about these products, half of them use illegal labelling.

Personally from one department store to another I wouldn't worry too much about quality, just get what looks good to you and try to get 100% cotton if you can.  Costco, and Winners are places that I recommend people to check out in Canada if they don't want to spend a small fortune on bedding. If they do want to spend a lot I recommend myself lol.

I was looking at your site earlier today budgy and those St. Geneve Aragon fire and water thingies both look totally amazing.  Are those comforters, or duvet covers?   I wish I was rich enough to afford those. I already went way out of my normal league with the amount of money I spent on my bed; the only reason I even had that extra money in the first place was due to a one-time special achievement.

It must be nice to have a lot of money to buy the good things in life like amazing beds and amazing bedding to go along with it.  Hopefully I'll get there one day. LOL

btw budgy, my small way of helping you out in return for all the great advice you've given me on this board is to point out that there is a typo on your webpage here:

and here:

Fixed now ;o

Thanks for catching that for me.  Yeah, the Water pattern in particular looks ridiculous, my parents actually have that one....I have yet to do any bedding on this caliber just yet, but maybe this year.  Those prices are actually just for the covers, and then any duvet can be used for the inside.

I wait for JCPenney sales and then I go into the store to feel the sheets since I learned that what is important is the thread count be at least 300, but preferably at least 400 thread count and the 100% cotton be soft.  After 400 thread count, what determines softness is the cotton used and the type of processing so sometimes the 450 thread count is softer than the 600 thread count sheets.

JCPenney is having a sale now for free shipping with $49 of total purchases.  They have 400 count sheets on sale with good reviews.  I am tempted to buy another set.

I am reluctant to use Amazon because they do not allow me the option to choose USPS as my shipping agent, and if they ship me things via courier, I'm gonna get charged illegitimate brokerage and other charges that I would not be charged if USPS was used instead.frown
