What's a good memory foam mattress topper (just like Tempurpedic)?

My buddy has a Tempurpedic mattress (the new one with the 'cooling' effect he said because the original Tempurpedic made him sweat at night).  Anyhow he loves it, I liked it too, but I have a Kings Size Sealy Posturpedic mattress, non-pillow top, it's a very firm mattress and I have it on a platform plywood base, no boxspring.  I was thinking of buying a memory foam mattress topper to make it feel just like a Tempurpedic bed.. is this possible?

btw.. I used to have a Latex Foam bed and I hated it, the latex foam was too soft for me, I sleep on my back and it gave me lots of lower back pain, felt like my butt sank in too deep into the latex foam.

Any recommendations of where to buy from online?  who has the best quality memory foam toppers?

hello welcome

just found this company http://www.healthyfoundations.com/toppers.html out of colorado, claims to have the best memory foam on the market and he gives a 365 day full money back guarantee little on the exspensive side but with a guarantee like that you could buy 5 that dont work.

i just ordered a 2 inch from him i will update you on the quality when it arrives he said should be here (oregon) by friday

good luck thanks

One of the keys to look for is density.  Tempurpedic uses a lot of 5.3lb. density foams, although in their most expensive they use some higher density as well.  Overstock sells Sensus which is 5lb. density.  I am currently using 1" from foamonline that is suppose to be 5.3lb. density, but I measured it at 5.9.  So, pretty dense stuff.   I would not that it was made in China and had stronger initial odor than most.  That concerned me a bit, but I am still using it.

I would also note that neither of theses has a special cooling affect as your friend says.  I have found that the ones that are suppose to be cooler (breathe more), don't offer as much support.  I actually use 1" of latex over the memory foam + some wool above, so the heat issues have not been a problem so far.
