I have a queen size Iron bed frame. From where can I get a head frame for it? It also has 2 slotted openings to fix to an headboard. looks liek it needs to be screwed to a proper head board. Do I have to measure the width of the frame? and from where can I get a head board that can be Screwed to this metal frame? Thanks. |
Probably from any furniture store. Or online place. Many metal beds give you the option of purchasing a headboard only. And Bed Claw brand makes adapter plates so that you can attach a full or king headboard to your queen frame. And also hook plate adapters that allow you to use a bolt-on metal bed frame with a wooden headboard that needs hook-type fasteners. Bed Claw isn't the only brand for those things. Google bed frame parts and you may find links. Be sure to measue the height above the floor for the slots in your bed frame's brackets. Be sure that the frame you want to use does not sit too low. My mom had an economy freebie bedframe, and it had that problem. The top hole in the bracket was about 1.25" too low to mate up with the bolt holes in the headboard she wanted to use. We replaced that frame with a standard frame made by Manrua. Porblem solved. We also used the Bed Claw Modiplates to attach her bed to the queen sixe headboard. The matress set she had is full, and the headboard is queen. Those plates work great. It might be a little more springy setup than if you bolted the headboard directly to the frame itself. But it does work great. This message was modified Dec 31, 2010 by TC2334

Also check your local Craigslist, if you don't mind buyingsecondhand. Or furniture consignement shops. Lots of people redecorate, and many are downsizing or converting the guest room or the kid's room to an office. So there are always great deals on the secondhand market, too. |
Thanks. I already have a headboard that only takes hooked on type rails. BUT my metal frame has got slots - 2 slots - 1 up and 1 down. Is there any way to attach this metal frame with brackets to this headboard that takes only hooked on type rails? Thanks. |
