I contacted several latex vendors a while back with this question, and they had no suggestions. The only adhesives I found that were specifically recommended for foam latex were Misty Foam and Fabric Adhesive and Camie 303. But I never got around to trying either.
I would be hesitant to use one...
Irritating how hard it is to find out what the bargain latex really is! Everybody seems to lie or just not know.
We got very good results softening a latex setup with too much pushback by using a cheap convoluted memory foam topper on top of it. Total thickness is 1-1/2" or so. That little bit...
I have shoulder problems and recently bought a 2" latex topper (soft talalay). We have been a bit disappointed with it - it turns out latex has a quality called "pushback", which makes it feel much stiffer than the ILD would suggest - you just don't sink in the way you do with MF (or even...
Sure if you look hard enough you can find some clues, but they never come out and say the site is exclusively a promotional site for Carpenter, and that the seal or approval they portray prominently on the main page is "awarded" only to their own products (at least, I have never seen it on...
Another thing about Carpenter that gives me pause is that they have another website for a fake organization, sleepbetter.org, that is made to look like an independent, informational site, but recommends only Carpenter products. Nowhere on the site (that I could find) is it identified as being a...
Apologies for reviving an old thread, but we have been trying to de-stink a Carpenter memfoam topper, and I recalled this post. Following the link to the Certipur site I was interested to note that the Certipur certification for Carpenter DOESN'T include their mem foams! So it is safe to assume...
Thanks, I hadn't seen them. Should be cheaper and faster than a freezer, and if it prevents on infestation it has paid its way. Though apparently 120 is at the low end of the range for killing bugs, and many sources say it takes 20-35 hours to be effective. I suspect that an eggcrate of...
Just was cutting through Bon Ton (dept store) and noticed they had a bunch of half price deals on mem foam topper, but still all in the $60-$200 range. I asked the girl if they had any cheap PU foam toppers and she said they had closed them all out but might have a few orphans in the back. Came...
We go to NYC, which is bedbug central, on business occasionally, and just about all our regular hotels have had infestation problems, the cheaper ones (which in NYC means p>
Seems to work. We've had several friends who have become infested on returning from a trip, but we haven't.
One hears a lot of complaints about memory foam sleeping hot. Does this get worse the thicker it gets, or does ANY memory foam at all tend to make a bed sleep hot?
I am considering getting some 1" Sensus or a cheap 1-1'2" Walmart convoluted MF pad, and am curious how much hotter this might make...
It's from Overstock, who says its 18 or 20, but they haven't a clue. I identified it by comparing it to some latex samples I had . but they were only labeled as being soft or medium and talalay or dunlap, no ILD.
I don't think the problem is the bed being too soft. I feels pretty firm to me -...
I put 2" of fairly soft talalay on top of our hard innerspring bed, and after a week of sleeping on it my wife says its too hard, and I find myself having backaches the next day even though I am very comfortable all night in the bed.
I went looking for an eggcrate just to see how softening it a...
The Ramada in Durango CO has them, but that probably isn't much help. So put Google to work, and try some combinations like "Connecticut Hotel Tempurpedic" (or Massa... whatever).
There seems to be one in Stonington CT.
Though questionable how much you will find out. When we stayed at the...
I finally got my nerve up and ordered the ECO Luxury Latex Topper from Overstock.com. Regulars here will recall that if one contacts OS customer service and asks what kind of latex they were CS would say soft talalay, but several people here who bought them reported getting a medium dunlap (and...
As long as you already have it, have you tried it folded over to give you 2" on one side, just to see how that works? That is one of the nice things about using multiple thinner layers, is that you can configure them to try other options without having to buy a lot of thick, expensive foam...
