So figure out your cost to ship it back to them, subtract what they paid to ship it to you, and subtract the 25% restocking fee. Probably not worth the trouble of packaging it, & driving it to the shipping store.
True. But I would argue that since the product was defective --...
Some of us here are pleased with our latex purchases from FBM and haven't had this type of problem. I have a 6" base and 3" topper and don't recall any odor. I set up the bed as soon as the shipment arrived and had no need to air out the latex beforehand. If I were you, I'd either call FBM...
Cardamoms ... FBM must have given you incorrect info about the terry cover; the one I received (8" thick) is available on their web site; just follow this link and scroll down to the terry mattress pad cover just below the striped cover: http://www.foambymail.com/MatAccessories.html
The cover...
I have a 6" firm base and 3" soft topper from FBM with the terry cover. The base was shipped inside the cover but the topper had to be inserted separately. I think I understand the jiggly feeling you're describing because the topper seemed jiggly before I put it inside the cover. Once inside...
The Cosco cuddlebed says it's 2 1/2" thick, but I guess it flattens out so it doesn't change the feel of the latex? Does the cuddlebed offer any sort of wetness protection?
wifecat -- as BillB noted, the Cuddle Bed is about one inch thick. However, it has a thicker border of about 2.5 inches...
Some folks say that a slatted base should be used to allow the latex to breathe. I've had my latex mattress for about six months and it's on a platform bed with a solid platform and I haven't noticed any moisture problem. Maybe a very humid, tropical location would be different. (I'm in upstate...

Beanie: Thank you for the response. When you indicate that they do not offer organic, what do you mean?
This company claims to be selling Talalay latex foam from Europe. Is it a blended latex foam? Part synthetic and part natural rubber?
This is the problem with so much of the...
Sorry for the abbreviation. FBM is foambymail.com, not foamorder. FBM carries the least expensive latex mattresses and many folks on this board have had good results ordering from them. However, many other people have not been happy with the quality of the latex because of apparent...
eagle2,
Thanks for the additional information about foamorder. I understand why you're traveling out of state to try out a mattress. I almost did the same, since I live in an area where latex mattresses are not available, certainly not organic. I took a risk with FBM, but luckily it worked out...
I have no experience with any of the companies you mentioned, but a search on this forum will yield dozens of discussions about Sleepez, Flobeds and Savvy Rest. Considering the budget issue, you may also want to check into organic mattresses made by foamorder.com. Their Natural Sense mattress...
This is good to know. Let us know how it works out, especially if the 3-sided zipper presented problems. Did you order online? If so, please provide link. Thanks for the info.
Have you checked out foamorder.com? They have dunlop, natural talalay and blended talalay in different sizes and ILDs. They'll cut custom sizes and prices look pretty good. I'm not sure if they carry Latex Int'l.
Oops. Bear is correct about the size of the terry cover; it's 8 inches, not 9 as I mistakenly said in my previous post. However, as I said, there was no problem fitting the 9 inches of latex inside the cover.
I have FBM's 6" latex core with a 3" latex topper and they both fit in the 9 inch terry cloth cover. The core was already in the cover when it arrived and I unzipped it all around, placed the topper over it, and rezipped. The zipper is at the bottom of the cover and at first I thought there...
Les, I also think it sounds like a good set up. I have a 6" firm core and 3" soft topper from FBM and I am very pleased with the purchase. Most folks on this board are leery about such a thick soft topper, but it's worked out very well for me as it's on a platform bed with a solid base. Your...
electracat ... if you google "Euro Slat" bed, you'll find numerous web sites showing different variations of it. I wish these were readily available in retail stores in this country because I was interested in one before I purchased the platform bed but I didn't want to buy one sight unseen...
Welcome to the world of platform bed research. I spent about six months searching every website and retail store before ordering. Between researching beds and the various latex options, I drove myself crazy.
There's a difference of opinion on the latex/slats/solid platform issue. Some people...
Not sure what "affordable" means. I spent months searching online for a platform bed and saw many moderately priced beds for around $200, some even less. It's hard to judge quality online, but many sites have customer reviews. Just google "platform bed" and you'll see dozens of sites for...
