I'm not a guru by far when it comes down to these things but we have some pretty smart people on this board....
I have some time before my mattress comes in and started looking into sheets. comforters, etc and came across the following post which some of you may or may not fine helpful....
Just...
Is anyone else on the market making a horsehair topper like Hastens ?
I dunno if it was the combo of the double springs - mattress and box, but the topper was divine as well.
It has some give but has some resiliancy to it as well.
No this is not a product shill....
I started off with the S as a *consumer* this is what we're accustomed to.
In the search for the ~the mattress~ did I become aware of the Hastens brand.
There is absolutely no comparison between the S and the H line....and not have I raved about the product...
Anyone care to shed some info or give me a primer of good bedding stuff
I was avoiding Hastens due to pricepoint but the comfort just sold itself.
Their pillows seems like top quality as well....or maybe it was the combo of the mattress and pillow that made it felt like sleeping on clouds...
I dunno if it's the horsehair topper or the mattress/spring bedspring combo but it's a winner !
Whatever it is, I like it more than the Dux or Shifmans I tried
Love both the 2000T and Excelisor . The 2000T is like instant comfort and the Excelisor takes about 30 seconds for the comfort factor...
I hear ya cloud. I must have slept through all of NYC ;-)
Did not like the Temperpudics at all.
The only foam one I liked was made by S&F. It was a ~plus~ firmness model .
On the springs, I tried the Shifman's, Hasten, and the Klufts.
2 of the Klufts I tried I like and the Shifmans, I did not...
I guess I'm not smoking @#$%^& when I thought $875 seemed liked ALOT of money for inside delivery.
I got requoted for just curbside dropoff + no removal of old mattress for $200 less which I still feel is high for a mattress set....
This may be a deal breaker and I"ll be back to the drawing board.
I'm a stickler for these things when a vendor charges $$ for shipping. I ship alot so I have a pretty good enough on average what shipping should be.
However, I don't ship *freight trucking* that much
But for shipping a king mattress and true *boxspring*, the shipping price was $875 which...
Just wondering....
Between adding the waterproof mattress protector and then the cotton one ontop, etc.
Did you guys put a cheapie on or the upsell ones that the vendor offers, etc.
I don't eat at all in the bed so I'm not expecting any food spills or stains. And no kids or pets to boot...
Give the core material, will a latex bed show body depressions as fast, slower or none at all when compared to a coil spring bed ?
I've been looking at different beds out of them, I've narrowed it down to a S&F/Sealy Latex Matrress or a McRoskey.
Did not like the feel of any of the foams at all.
