I only posted a picture of a cutaway of my bed...not the surgery, you don't have the same bed so it won't help. There ARE some photos here of surgery. If you look at cloud9 old posts you will find his/her surgery also was it kait that had some? Billb, can you point him in right direction for...
Hi mybackhurts...I am a mattress surgery survivor. This is my post op report. Hope it helps you. Thanks to the help and photos here from kait, cloud9, billb and others I took the plunge. Photos are hard to find on this board and the one I posted has fallen off. I wish I had the time to post some...
Hi J...I am a fan of Mr. Kluft. I have had 3 of his Chattam & Wells coil mattresses over the last 15 years or so. He sold the company a few years ago to one of the "S" Mfgs, can't remember which one just now. I can't vouch for the new Chattam line but the old line he had was very good. I...
Hi MyBackHurts, take a look at my thread headed Temporary Fix for a Coil Mattress. It's just a few down from yours. Also, check out Cloud9 and Kait postings. I had the same problem with sag on my Chattam & Wells. Try and put some foam or towels for that matter under your mattress on top of the...
Boy Steve...you have really given it the 'ol college try. I don't know what part of the country you are in but I think some of the Dux stores have sleep rooms. Knowing your pressure point sensitivity I would make sure I spent a good deal of time on one. Did you get to see the innards of the Dux...
If I were in the market today, I would look at cores of either latex, or springs only and purchase the cushy stuff we all like as toppers that you can replace every few years when they permanently squish down. If you like latex I would find a store local to you to try some and then if you like...
Hi Cloud9,
Thanks for your response. Do you suppose that the body impressions are in the top 2 layers of white batting? I saw where you had to un-quilt the batting from the ticking in the top cover. This mattress is super heavy duty as you can see from the cutaway. I am thinking that the only...
HI BillB,
Thanks for the reply. I LOVED your pictorial of your FBM bed. I also loved Cloud9's surgery 101. Between the two of you and the link to the photos of all of the cutaways of the used beds my eyes have been opened...and I "SEE THE LIGHT." No more mystery here...I have to say that the...
This is a cutaway of my 7K Chattam & Wells Luxe Vll. FYI they don't make this bed anymore. I can't remember the actual description of the innards except to say that it was some wool, cashmere, latex and memory foam over the springs. I have to say that this is the best bed I have ever had. I had...
Thanks Kait,
I have read a lot of your posts, I am glad you answered me cuz I know that you like coils. Do you know how to post a jpeg within messages? I would like to post a cutaway of my bed so you all can see the innards.
JoJo
Imjay...no offense taken. You wouldn't be recommending a different kind of bed like say, a waterbed now would you? Also, I didn't say that I paid 7K for it, that is retail and I paid a lot lot less on close-out. I have to say again that my C&W mattress is incredible...all the benefits of springs...
Hi All,
I can't say how much I have enjoyed and learned from this forum. I am especially fascinated with the mattress surgeries and the photos. Can't wait to cut mine open. However, I have made a temporary fix of our body impressions today and I want to make sure I won't hurt the springs and I...
