2-Sided Mattresses Are Everywhere - Except Where I Live!

I live in the southern half of New Jersey.  I can easily
drive to towns like Cherry Hill and Moorestown.  Both
areas have hundreds of furniture and mattress stores.
In fact, I'm surrounded by many other townships that
have huge shopping districts.

I thought I had died and gone to mattress heaven when
I discovered "The Original Mattress Factory."  They have
hundreds of different models.  Almost all are flippable or
two-sided.  Their Orthopedic line has 12¾ gauge coils.
They have an extra and ultra firm mattress in this line.
Exactly what I was searching for.  If I want a less hard
mattress I'll buy a quality topper from a site like "The
Foam Factory."  They have 5LB density toppers.  That
is not what most mattress manufacturers use in their
"no-flip" mattresses.  2LB density is common.  (Incredibly,
one retailer bragged about 1LB density foam!)  That's
why most of these no-flip mattresses develop permanent
holes and depressions after a few months.

The nearest Original Mattress Factory outlet is 300 miles
from where I live.  I'll pay the $157.00 FedEx charge, but
I'm concerned about delivery.  When it arrives the driver
will not help unload the mattress set.  That means getting
a friend or relative to assist.  Even if FedEx gives me a date
and time for the delivery, what am I going to do if the truck
is delayed?  Most of my friends are busy people.  They can't
wait around all day.

What I really need is to find is a local retailer that sells two
sided mattresses similar to The Original Mattress Factory.
There is a manufacturer in New Jersey called Rex Bedding
& Sleep Products.  From what I've read, they make a complete
line of two-sided mattresses.  I don't know if they sell under
their own name, or they relabel their products for retailers
who sell the Rex brand.

This info about 1-800-Mattress really got my attention:

http://www.sleepinformation.org/news/1800Mattress_Consumers_Flipping_Out-061009.html

The article says 27% of their sales are flippable mattresses.
Not anymore!

1-800-Mattress, Dial-A-Mattress, and a boat load of other
companies are now owned by Sleepy's.  They also control
the mattress divisions in Sears, Macys, etc.  I can't find
two-sided mattresses at any of these sites, since they

merged with Sleepy's.

Can someone help me find a mattress retailer in the southern
half of New Jersey that sells two-sided mattresses.  I've tried
every possible combination of words searching Google.  I can't
find anything.

Awwww, snap.  Have you tried calling The Original Mattress Factory and asked how the delivery times work?  You don't have some neighbors who are at home all day that you might convince to help you for $10 or a meal or something?  If I lived near you, I'd offer to help.  I think you really should try to get the mattress you really want.  Otherwise, you might be second guessing yourself.

Thank you for replying, sleepswithcats.

You're very right about The Original Mattress Factory.
I wanted to reach through the monitor and pull that
mattress set through the screen!

I sent an email to FedEx because the information about
Common Carrier Delivery is very contradictory.  Many sites
seem be saying that the truck driver will stay in the truck
cab, and not help you at all.  I don't believe this is true.
Why would FedEx allow anyone to enter the cargo container
of a freight truck?  Can you imagine what would happen if
a FedEx customer was injured or killed while unloading
merchandise from one of their trucks.

QueryCat says something very different about Common
Carrier shipping.  Read the FAQ under "What is the Delivery
Policy for FedEx, UPS and Common Carriers?"  It says, "with
Common Carrier Delivery, the truck driver may ask for your
assistance in unloading the large and/or heavy furniture
from the rear of the truck."

I have a large handtruck.  If the driver helps me unload the
mattress set to groung level, I can easily move the set into
my home with the handtruck.

Now you know why I emailed FedEx.  I hope they give me a
definitive answer to my query.
