2-Sided Mattresses Are Everywhere - Except Where I Live!
I live in the southern half of New Jersey. I can easily drive to towns like Cherry Hill and Moorestown. Both areas have hundreds of furniture and mattress stores. In fact, I'm surrounded by many other townships that have huge shopping districts. I thought I had died and gone to mattress heaven when I discovered "The Original Mattress Factory." They have hundreds of different models. Almost all are flippable or two-sided. Their Orthopedic line has 12¾ gauge coils. They have an extra and ultra firm mattress in this line. Exactly what I was searching for. If I want a less hard mattress I'll buy a quality topper from a site like "The Foam Factory." They have 5LB density toppers. That is not what most mattress manufacturers use in their "no-flip" mattresses. 2LB density is common. (Incredibly, one retailer bragged about 1LB density foam!) That's why most of these no-flip mattresses develop permanent holes and depressions after a few months. The nearest Original Mattress Factory outlet is 300 miles from where I live. I'll pay the $157.00 FedEx charge, but I'm concerned about delivery. When it arrives the driver will not help unload the mattress set. That means getting a friend or relative to assist. Even if FedEx gives me a date and time for the delivery, what am I going to do if the truck is delayed? Most of my friends are busy people. They can't wait around all day. What I really need is to find is a local retailer that sells two sided mattresses similar to The Original Mattress Factory. There is a manufacturer in New Jersey called Rex Bedding & Sleep Products. From what I've read, they make a complete line of two-sided mattresses. I don't know if they sell under their own name, or they relabel their products for retailers who sell the Rex brand. This info about 1-800-Mattress really got my attention: http://www.sleepinformation.org/news/1800Mattress_Consumers_Flipping_Out-061009.html The article says 27% of their sales are flippable mattresses. Not anymore! 1-800-Mattress, Dial-A-Mattress, and a boat load of other companies are now owned by Sleepy's. They also control the mattress divisions in Sears, Macys, etc. I can't find two-sided mattresses at any of these sites, since they merged with Sleepy's. Can someone help me find a mattress retailer in the southern half of New Jersey that sells two-sided mattresses. I've tried every possible combination of words searching Google. I can't find anything. |
