I was one of the fortunate ones who actually had a Serta rep. come out to my home when I complained of my mattress hammocking. AND, they checked the foundation and decided it wasn't built right, hence the mattress not performing well. I never did understand what was wrong or how it would even really affect my mattress. It looked fine to me. But, since my husband's side of the mattress wasn't performing poorly and he DID apparently have the correct box spring (foundation), maybe there was something to it. They contacted the store where I purchased it and I was able to exchange it for something else. This time I went with two XL Twins and have never gone back to one King mattress again.
And, actually the Full size...

You know, that's funny--- my Serta is actually more jiggly than any of our beds. Not sure if it's the actual mattress doing this or the boxspring. I can also hear it creaking when I move on it. Just reminds me more of the way my mattresses felt when I was a lot younger. But again, I think it might have to do with the way the boxspring works with the mattress. Back when I slept on it full time, I didn't really think much of it. But now that I've slept on mattresses that seem to "stay still" and not creak, I can really tell the difference. I don't think I would like that sensation now. In fact, right after my husband and I married and we decided on a King, I searched and searched for a mattress to duplicate my Serta PERFECT sleeper. Never found it. But, now...

I'm sorry novahelp. :( In the past 25 years I've had two Sealys and one Serta Perfect Sleeper, purchased in the late '80s. The Serta still sits in my guest room, in "PERFECT" condition. The Sealys never felt as comfortable to me. One was BOARD hard. My mistake for going with super-firm. I sold that to a friend and bought the Serta. At first I ordered a firmer one, but quickly exchanged it for the cushion firm in the same model. Ahhhhh...much better. Double-sided. Belgian damask cover. Built like they used to build mattresses. They must have used better foams back then, too. Or I just got lucky. The later Sealy (the one before my current zippered mattress) was also on the firmer side, but definitely started sagging in the middle, even with minimal foam. Granted, it was 12 years old. But it was on its way...

Replacing an attached memory foam topper - michael
Nov 24, 2007 8:36 AM
We have a Serta Perfect Sleeper North Stellaris with an attached memory foam topper.
It was excellent for about 6 months months ... but very quickly started to sag, and now it is much softer and uncomfortable. It went from being fantastic to being very bad within a few months, and it is now about 18 months old.
We can't afford a new mattress. Has anyone tried removing the attached topper and replacing it?
We need a very firm topper. Can anyone suggest a model?

Cloud9,

You might want to take a look at this. I wrote to Matt at Foamsource and he told me the Nu-rest topper comes from a company named Arpico. It's 15% natural and 85% synthetic. I think the zoning is 22-28-22 ILD. It is another one I'm considering, but wondering if the 28 ILD would be enough pressure relief for my hips (as a side sleeper). Mattress mom seems the most familiar with Dunlop. What does she think?
Arpico is a major Dunlop supplier from Sri Lanka - probably the biggest of the reputable suppliers. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) Take a look at the web sites for Arpico, Latexco, Dunlopillo, Latex International and Sleep Comp.

I don't really know that much about the Dunlop manufacturers. I just know the big names and that I like to sleep on an ILD around the mid...
Number of Springs versus Latex Foam? - dvdgirl
Jan 13, 2008 6:53 PM
Hi Everyone,
I'm debating between purchasing one of these two queen sized beds:
Simmons Beautyrest Worldclass Atkins Plush or Serta Perfect Sleeper Harbor Bay Firm
The Simmons has 980 springs and the Serta has 532. However, the springs are different. Also, the Simmons doesn't have latex foam, while the Serta one does.
To my husband and I, both feel comfortable. We would just like to get your opinion on which bed would be a better investment for us in terms of longevity.
Thank you!
