I tend to think you're right since I had that similar issue with the Marshall coils I slept on. My lower back is what bothered me the most. I felt like the springs were just not holding me up. My mattress guy tried a couple of other things to no avail, until he decided it just had to be the springs. He was right. LuraFlex still helps with decreased motion as do the pocketed coils. But they just feel stronger and more supportive under my back. Even when I took off my latex/foam layers and put my hands on the coils, they just seem to "give" too much. The wire gauge is just too thin for me.
One thing though. I slept one on a Westin Heavenly Bed which is a Simmons Beautyrest with those pocketed coils and LOVED IT! Now I'm not sure because it was just one night, or...

Hi,
I understand people with fibromyalgia and other muscle/joint pain issues do well on a Stearns and Foster Chateau Orleans. It is made by Sealy and is a firm but a plush tight top. If it is not soft enough you can add a 1" 20-24 ILD latex talalay topper.
Maybe your store has or can get it. It does not tend toward deep impressions, gives decent support and has a nice cushion. It goes by different names so I would run a check on the web as well as seek to read some reviews before you take the plunge.

I know that Tempurpedic or Memory foam mattresses have been touted as the best thing since sliced bread...but in reality they can cause their own set of problems.
I believe that you have discovered the cause of your problem, but be cautious to not throw the baby out with the bathwater when you go to fix it. THERE IS NOTHING INHERENTLY WRONG WITH INNERSPRING MATTRESSES. As a matter of fact, I am having an offset coil mattress made for us this week and am thrilled. My issues are mostly low back pain that comes from not enough support for my pelvic region. I have slept on many many many mattresses, and from each I've learned what will and won't work for me. The air mattresses don't work...I have to have the air really pumped in to make it quite hard in order to get any support...and then my shoulders hurt when...

As someone who found this forum in my excruciating search for just the right mattress last week, here's my experience and recommendations re: Diamond Mattresses.
I owned and slept on very comfortably a Diamond (model: Spinal Pedic “Prestige”). Bought it 10 years ago, around the time (I believe) the industry started making plush-type pillowtops. Or at least they hadn't been making them for years as it was hell finding sheets that would fit 15” deep mattresses! I was concerned the pillowtop would...

Yes, I think you should be concerned. I just got burned on a Stearns & Foster set. The materials used in a conventional set from the "S" companies are not of the quality that I remember from my childhood. Read the extensive posts in this site and decide for yourself. I wish I had done that before I wasted almost $3,000 last year....
Need updated Info. on Bragada or Jamison beds, please - Nursegail

First of all, I would like to thank you folks for taking the time to post your reviews.

I find this site to be the most helpful in making an important decision. I have been "burned" by Stearns and Foster

( see my review) and need to purchase a new mattress. I am extremely intersted in the latex beds(Flobeds & Sleepez) described on this site, but I am also looking at the Bragada line and maybe the Jamison bed as well. Any recent reviews/ comments would be greatly appreciated. I am especially interested in hearing from those people who have owned their beds for a year or longer, to see how they have held up....

Have been pouring over the postings on this forum for days, researching what to do about replacing my mattress. Thanks to all of you for an incredible amount of info and personal experience! I will try to keep this as brief as possible...
I currently have a 3½ YO Stearns & Foster "Silver Dream" (expensive, huge pillowtop) that is killing me. I have multiple disc & SI issues & doing my best to avoid surgery. My bed isn't helping me one bit. I tried a memory foam bed...husband hated it & it didn't really help me much, so it went back. I'm 5'7" & 135 lbs & husband is 5'10" & 165 lbs. We are both primarily side sleepers. I try to stay off my stomach as much as possible.
After all my research here, I have decided to go w/ the best innerspring I can buy w/ the least amount of junk...

Leo, here's our mattress history as promised.
This nightmare started about five years ago, when my partner talked me into replacing our 25 year-old, basic, inexpensive but supremely comfortable JC Penney bed. There was nothing wrong with it that a set of sheets couldn't hide, just the normal stains that accumulate over time, even when using a mattress pad. But still it was pretty gross, and attempts to clean the mattress failed miserably, so I agreed to dump it.
I've always understood that a comfortable bed is not an expense, it's an investment, so we didn't scrimp when we budgeted for a new...
Price controlled? - JHeatherton

I guess it's pretty common that manufacturers bed models have different names at different stores making it nearly impossible to compare pricing. On the Stearns and Foster website I couldn't even find different models. But I did find a Sealy model that is offered at several places. It's the Sealy SpringFree™ Fairway Dunes. Our local Raymour and Flanigan furniture sells the queen for $2519. It just so happens that I found it on line at several other mattress companies. It's also $2519. Does Sealy and other mattress companies mandate the selling price? A lot of companies do share this practice on their products. I also noticed that these mattress stores pretty much all say "We will not be under sold"!!
I also noticed that these major manufacturers latex beds have more pads than the generics like SleepEz. They just use more/different layers of thinner latex/foam. This gets more and more confusing!!...
