Re: Adjustable Bed Advice - Sall

Here are a couple of web sites from others on this forum which were recommended:

and:  http://www.lpadjustablebeds.com/

I bought our S-capes from Original Mattress Factory with the latex mattresses.  It works fine and is fairly quiet but you aren't running them all night.  I really didn't do a comparison.  I've "heard" that the L&P S-cape were good but didn't do any real comparison or much research.  OMF wouldn't sell the adjustable bed without the mattress.  The local back store would have but it would have been a little more expensive that way so we went with the OMF one.  On line may be the best way to get the least expensive one.  I think our TXL versions with a latex mattress were about $2000 or slightly less each.  We used them to replace a King size bed and mattress.

Re: Tempurpedic alternative....not happy with new spring matt - laketrout

I would look at all the websites online.  I would also recommend if you have one near you, an Original Mattress Factory bed.  Might want to check them out.  I called I think over 20 of the online companies.  I found a person on the phone I liked and literally bought from them because of the person, who happened to be the owner of the company.  I will say the cover to my online purchased topper is not the best and I understand it is on all of driftawaymattress products they sell.  But, I would invest some time looking around.  I was very disappointed in a few of the companies with asking questions and getting what seemed to be a run around.  Good luck shopping and getting a product you will eventually be happy with.

Long post about my bedding tribulations and final relief through our purchase from Custom Sleep Design - Trigger

I spent weeks reading through posts on the 'what's the best mattress forum' as well as any other websites I could before I took the plunge to buy our new bed.  Furthermore, I've had our new bed for a few months, so I think that the 'new purchase glow' has worn off enough to allow me to give a balanced review of our new bed.  I thought I'd put the review here as well as in the review section in case there are questions or anyone wants to enter into dialog.

First a quick history:

I'm a woman in my mid. thirties who has had chronic pain issues that have been worsening significantly for the last few years.  Aside from a bad choice of bed, I may just have a  predisposition exacerbated by a couple of MVA's, and postural issues....

Awwww, snap.  Have you tried calling The Original Mattress Factory and asked how the delivery times work?  You don't have some neighbors who are at home all day that you might convince to help you for $10 or a meal or something?  If I lived near you, I'd offer to help.  I think you really should try to get the mattress you really want.  Otherwise, you might be second guessing yourself....

You're not alone.  I'm pretty rail thin and have had a hell of a time lately, but I'm learning.  I think Tempurpedic might be some of the most pressure relieving out there.  It is a very popular brand.  I don't think they are a bunch of marketing shysters.  The places they are sold have liberal return policies, so they would be returned if they stunk (pun intended!).  The issue of toxic foam .... I don't have an answer for that.  I would personally sleep on a Temurpedic.  I used a TP symphony pillow for years and never had a problem.

I have a lot of years on innerspring, 4 weeks on an iComfort memory foam bed and 1 1/2 weeks on an all latex bed.

About the all latex.  Well, it is not popular in stores.  Each store has maybe one or two models of latex...

Thank you for replying, sleepswithcats.

You're very right about The Original Mattress Factory.
I wanted to reach through the monitor and pull that
mattress set through the screen!

I sent an email to FedEx because the information about
Common Carrier Delivery is very contradictory.  Many sites
seem be saying that the truck driver will stay in the truck
cab, and not help you at all.  I don't believe this is true.
Why would FedEx allow anyone to enter the cargo container
of a freight truck?  Can you imagine what would happen if
a FedEx customer was injured or killed while unloading
merchandise from one of their trucks.

QueryCat says something very different about Common
Carrier...

I live in the southern half of New Jersey.  I can easily
drive to towns like Cherry Hill and Moorestown.  Both
areas have hundreds of furniture and mattress stores.
In fact, I'm surrounded by many other townships that
have huge shopping districts.

I thought I had died and gone to mattress heaven when
I discovered "The Original Mattress Factory."  They have
hundreds of different models.  Almost all are flippable or
two-sided.  Their Orthopedic line has 12¾ gauge coils.
They have an extra and ultra firm mattress in this line.
Exactly what I was searching for.  If I want a less hard
mattress I'll buy a quality topper from a site like "The
Foam Factory."  They have 5LB density toppers.  That
is...

Original Mattress Factory? Pillowtops vs Talalay Latex Foam vs Tempurpedic Memory Foam? - MinnesotaGirl

Has anyone ever bought a mattress from the Original Mattress Factory?  Consumer Reports rates it 2nd only to Tempurpedic for customer satisfaction.  I was going to get a Tempurpedic bed, but they are SO expensive & I am worried it will sleep too hot & that I won't like it because half the people don't seem to like the way it feels.

I am currently sleeping on an innerspring Sealy PosturePedic bed that is 11 yrs old & has a massive dip in the middle.  I REALLY need a new bed!!  It has been giving me low back muscle pain & hip muscle pain because the dip is causing my back & hip muscles to pull all night long.  I was told that as a skinny person (5 ft 7 in tall & 125 lbs)...
